Dust collar rattling

Hey guys, this is getting to be the most annoying thing with my car. My dust collar on my s13 (sr20det) will no stay in place when you push it into the transmission, it just keeps popping out and the little bit of metal on the end is making the most annoying constant rattling noise and it's leaking a bit of transmission oil.

What can I do to stop it from rattling so I don't go insane?

correct the metal ring that holds it in place is what is worn out

wait... are you talking about the collar (metal) or the seal (rubber ring ont eh end of the trans

If it is the seal replace it

If it is the collar remove it and throw the bitch away

Nope. Seal fits inside the little recess, collar slides against it.

oh okay so just pick up a new seal then?

If that's the problem, yes. Throw the collar away while you're there.
