I just saw this on ebay and wondering if it would even help at all. Seems like their claim is somewhat unreasonable.

I have never seem anything like this and I searched to see if anyone else asked about it but couldn't find anything.

They sell it as a chip to those with out brains and glasses. The sellers are just hartless bastards.

its a resistor that fools your ecu into thinking its colder outside advancing your timing and running richer

all this is...is your adding a resistor to your MAF sensor, fooling the computer to suck in more air and thinking that the vehicle is starting cold thus giving more fuel to the engine....and ta da....more horsepower. yeah it does work...but your pretty much paying somelse's time and money for tryin to figure it out.

Wrong. And you're an idiot.
First off, they claim it wires into the IAT, not the MAF. And in that scenario it really does nothing because the IAT is only used for diagnostics, not engine operation.
Now if you did wire in into the MAF you are tricking the ECU into reading more air, or more dense air, so it injects more fuel to compensate. You got that right, but more fuel *without* more air leads to a rich condition, which looses power. Remember you haven't actually increased the airflow at all, you've just tricked the ECU into thinking there's more air. There isn't.
