3 bolts on top of the top of the valve cover = s13 dohc, other differences... external coil for distributor

2 bolts on top of the valve cover means it is s14 dohc, if u have a whole bunch of crap on top of the intake manifold, and the tps plug along with another big plug right next to eachother clipped on the intake manifold, 3 wires fore O2 sensor its OBDII so 96-98 s14dohc, less crap on top of intake manifold, tps hooked around a vacuum hose, and plug clipped to intake manifold, one wire for O2 sensor, OBDI, 95 dohc

the serial #'s on the motor dont think there is any real corelation, but i could be wrong, easiest way to tell if its s13 or s14 dohc is the bolts on the top valve cover

all the same except what dct223 said.... s14 kas piston squirter whatever there call are 1mm bigger... s13 head has a lil bit stronger valve train... due to the different cams stock...

short block is all the same also.... no difference..
