View Full Version : White / Glow in the Dark / Custom Gauge Faces

I have made glow in the dark gauge faces for the 1st gen MX6 (88-92) since white / indiglo gauges are no longer stocked by any vendors. I am posting on this site to see if there is any interest in selling gauge faces for another car, possible one with little or no aftermarket support. Gauge faces will be $25 shipped worldwide and customization will be available for those who require. I have talked to my friend WeldingHank (http://www.zilvia.net/f/member.php?u=22326) and he will be scanning his spare set of S13 91-94 gauges. I will also have a set for 89-90. I will post some pictures when I'm done. Please take a look at what I have done and let me know if any one here is interested.

Look for S13 downloads here! (http://www.geocities.com/pantha_37/cars/whitegauge/s13.html)

Did you talk to the mods about this? Looks like a little "business" you're running.

Nice work though.

I did that to my S13's gauges basically anyone can do it it only takes a little time, and some basic photoshop skills.
Mine were white gauges with the Silvia logo :2f2f:

Did you talk to the mods about this? Looks like a little "business" you're running.I'm not selling yet, I just wanted to probe the market.I did that to my S13's gauges basically anyone can do it it only takes a little time, and some basic photoshop skills.
Mine were white gauges with the Silvia logoPhotoshop? No these aren't photoshop. They are 100% vector graphics. My proofs that I send to people are in PDF format. Just click on the first two links in this link (http://www.geocities.com/pantha_37/mx6/files/whitegauges.html). I'd give out the direct links, but I change my hosting some times and I don't want to give out dead links. Oh and I'll probably make the silvia logo too. I'm sure I can find it somewhere or just grab it off GT2. Oh, how I love ePSXe (http://www.epsxe.com/download.php).

Thanks for the support guys; I really appriciate it. I have no clue why I didn't get any emails that I had replies. WeldingHank (http://www.zilvia.net/f/member.php?u=22326) sent me scans of the gauges today. I have the next 4 days off so I should be able to finish them or at least put out a decent beta product. I had a question about the 89-90 and 91-94 speedo gauge faces but I posted it in another post (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=81062).

I finished with the tach so you guys can take a look. I extended the Tach 500 RPM. I know some of the engine swaps have a higher redline, so now I can put the redline up to 8500.

No thank you, I know more people who have liked their importintelligence.com gauges than yours, I prefer to go with a product people like when I decide to go for white-face gauges.

Black face with all red numbers and markings would be much cooler.

Black face with all red numbers and markings would be much cooler.I could do that, but I'd have to print on a transparency for you to see it at night. If you are serious, I'll look into it.

Is this what you're looking for? http://img269.echo.cx/img269/1450/s13tach00027qf.th.jpg (http://img269.echo.cx/my.php?image=s13tach0002x2la.jpg)

Actually, yeah. That would be really nice. Transparent would be perfect. Let me know what a set for a S13 Digital Display would go for. Thanks.

that 130mph will be out of sight and covered up.

Best bet would be to follow the modification needed to read up to 180 mph using the k/mh marks on the jdm cluster..

Best bet would be to follow the modification needed to read up to 180 mph using the k/mh marks on the jdm cluster..That is a cool trick to change the jspec metric gauge into a MPH. The 130 should be just visible when installed. The scan I have has a "line" that shows where the bezel covers the gauge face. That's why I made the 120 and 130 lines longer, I might do it to the 125 line too.

Screen red and printed red are different colors. Printed red is C:0 M:100 Y:100 K:0, R:218 G:37 B:29. Screen red is R:255 G:0 B:0 and pretty much unprintable unless you have a really expensive printer. So yeah on the screen it looks a little orange. Good observation.

Kudos to Panther on this cool mod, I love the white ones but the only thing I hate is when is time to remove the gauge needles....(long story). I might get this later and replace the gauges on the back up cluster I have. These are: a very flexible when it comes to modifications and cheaper than any other product in the market right now.... :bigok:

it looks stock during the day, and like that at night.... keeps me happy, lol.

Panther37
06-02-2005, 10:55 PM
Okay now both 89-90 and 91-94 versions done. WeldingHank told me that the stock 89-90 redline is 6400 RPM and 6900 RPM for the 91-94. I hate speedos that are marked every 5 MPH (15, 25, 35, 45, etc.) so the 89-90 speedo is correct but doesn't look stock. If people prefer the stock look I can do that too. Metric speedos for both S13a ans S13b (can I make that up for the 89-90 and 91-94?) won't be a problem at all. I really just need a scam of the digital HUD fuel and tem gauge faces fo I can cover the digital HUD dash.

The "off" color can be avoided by using white paper over clear to print on. Does your TT look similar to my B5? I love my blue and red dash.
