I am about to start my 5-speed swap in my s13. Most posts about the electrical side I have seen are mostly for s14's. I was wondering about the ascd plugs on the auto brake pedal. Do these just make the cruise control work?

I just compared the plugs on the manual brake and clutch pedal with what's already on the auto car. It works out where one plugs into the clutch pedal and one into the brake pedal. I guess that's how it's supposed to go? Also there is a green box mounted where the clutch pedal goes. Is this just removed and the wiring left hanging? If this is left plugged in and re-mounted will I still have cruise control after the full swap?

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

do you want a clutch safety on the car? If you can handle not having one you can leave all of that alone and not have to worry about it the only wiring you need to do to get the car running is to jumper the park switch in the engine bay (2 cond grey plug with one black/white and one black/yellow) if you want backup lights you need to extend that to the reverse switch on the manual trans. Lastly unplug the key capture selonoid (on ign key barrel white box two wires just unplug) that is all of the electrical you need to do on an S13

I think I can live without the clutch safety. Also I am using a 5-speed lower harness all that stuff should plug right up.

then all you got to do is jumper the auto trans lock wires and unplug the key capture and you are finished

For the ASCD it's not a clutch safety switch, it's a clutch cancel switch. All it does is turn the cruise off when the clutch is depressed, otherwise the throttle will continue to pull and rev up the engine. 99% of people tap the brake first anyway so it's not a problem, but you can easily jump off the brake cancel switch if you wanted to.
