Hey what's up i have a 91fb do you guys know if it is hard to replace the steering wheel with an aftermarket one, because i am looking at a few aftermarket ones and i was wondering if it is hard to take the stock one off. And i would like to know if anyone has done it to their cars
Thanks

I just ripped mine off the other day to put my momo wheel on. Its really easy. **Note** If you have HICAS you cannot go to a aftermarket wheel.
Step 1. - Pull the front piece of your steering wheel off. (Do not try and pop the nissan logo off cause it will brake)
Step 2. - Disconnect the cruise cables from the middle piece you just popped off.
Step 3. - Unscrew the huge bolt right in the middle of the steering wheel(Only one there). I think its a 19.
Step 4. Put your new wheel/hub on and screw in the bolt.
**Note** You might have to loosen the clamp that is holding the blinker/washer housing cause your hub should have a guide on it that should slid under that housing.
Step 5. Connect the horn button if your new steering wheel has the option.
Step 6. Now get driving gloves and go drift or grip drive if thats what your into.

Hope this helps

Edit ---
Missed something...

The plastic house around the console is easy to get off. There are 5 screws holding it on. Two on the bottom right behind the wheel. One under each lever(blink/washer). The last is towards the back on the right. You will be able to feel it with your fingers(Not the screw but the slot).

sil80 posted b4 that his supplier said Momo hubs don't fit cars with HICAS. i contacted my buddy where i got all my Momo stuff and he checked the listings......no notations about #3508 hub not fitting HICAS cars . nobody else posted a reply to sil80 in the other thread about that. i can't imagine why Nissan would have designed a different strg column for a HICAS car......??
do u have a local shop that might let u test fit the hub??

speaking of steering wheels, what size do you guys like?
350mm
330mm
300mm?

what other sizes are there, and how wide is our stock steering wheel? I can't be bothered to bring a ruler all the way down into the basement (damn apartments don't allow "mechanical work" to be done in here! ) just to measure the diameter of my steering wheel. <g>

Who else make wheels that will fit our cars? Nardi is another big name but it seems like they only really make classic car stuff. That and Mazda parts. ... and dangit, why don't we have a "roll eyes" (in the bad sense) icon!

edit: exclaimationmark) = wink... wtf....

yenpit - I went through autoseattle.com.
They tech rep did not know but just said in his momo book there was a note next to our model saying it would not fit HICAS based models.
