Someone tell me how to take out the window from the stock hatch and put it on the Carbon Fiber one cause i cant deal with the rust holes underneath the spoiler. I ordered the hatch but i heard that the window is about 1K $, so if i cant use that i am gonna fic the rust, even though i dont want to cause i want the trunk to mach the hood. If its too hard as i heard, i am scrapping that idea and canceling my order!!!
Some one helP!!!!!
Thanx
Tom

umm, i wouldn't attempt to put the glass in yourself since obviously you've never done it before. Instead of going by what you've heard, call a car glass company in your area and see if you can get a quote.

BTW, are you saying the Lexan window is $1k? or the glass?? And next time research before you order. Saves a lot of hassle for everybody :newbie:

well i'm in illinois and i went to a glass company and they quoted me $850 for a front and back window and a new guard around the window for my 91 hb and that was installed!!....I'm also thinking of doing the cf hatch, what was the price and where did you order it from??

well i dont know if this applies, but for my windshield, it was only 150 installed with new weather stripping... so maybe the majority of the 850 is for the rear.. or maybe they are charging you for OEM glass? why dont you see if any place will be willing to un install the hatch glass and reinstall it on your CF hatch?

I did that 2 years ago. I replaced my rusty, non useable hatch with an almost new one using my stock rear glass.
I went to a glass shop, they told me: "You want to save the mouldings or the glass, glass is 1275 without defroster and 1375 with it, mouldings are like 200, tell me what to do"
I ordered the mouldings from Courtesy Nissan (345) This covers the 4 metal mouldings, 4 corners, 22 rubber blocks, plastic weatherstrip on the lower part of the glass.
The glass shop quoted me 100 for labor and they even let me do the wiring there, using their tools and shop for that.
My advice, dont try to remove the window yourself if you dont know how to do it!! You will break it!!
