Hi, i just went under my car to adjust camber and stuff and notice that 4 spots on the exhuast have leaks due to rust. 2 of them are on the resonator and the other two are the connectoin between the pipes and the dual tip. I was wondering if you can get it re welded and would resist rust. Any help will be great. thank you.

get it rewelded at those spots, and paint over them to prevent more rust (can't think of the paint i'm thinking of right now....sorry, long night).

Go to a shop that specializes in welding and have them fuse that metal back together in those spots with a stainless filler wire.

It doesn't. N1 dual piping and resonator is not stainless.

that's why your stock exhaust is grounded, it causes it to be polarized or something and it won't rust.

The N1 is made out of mild steel, not stainless, will rust, and keep on rusting.

I would suggest you rewelding the rusty parts. You wouldn't want your mufflers to completely rust off while driving. (Speaking from experience.) You should probably paint it with some high temperature paint or whatever those guys above were talking about...

The comment about the grounding of the exhaust is correct. I need to get a thicker grounding strap as well. I noticed that my 'exhaust' has been going the way of the rustage. Need to take it off and shoot it with rustoleum and get a fat ass grounding strap. Apparently the ground strap aids in reduced EMI and better engine response. Also face it, you just don't have cali like weather either. Don't feel bad I go up to see family in mulkiteo. I cringe thinking of what those roads hold.

sideview- i want my exhuast back duude. Id hate to hold u liable for it if anything happens to it.
anyways.. engine enamel works.. Just get the exhuast welded at spots and spray it. we did it to my friends exhaust and its good as new.
At least its not as bad as our old mustang,.. pipes rusted thru in the mid section, was horribly loud.
wait so the exhaust grounding strap actually effects performance?
if so, i want to hook mine back up
