hey all you kooks. i'm doing the single slammer KAT thing and was just curious as to how many of us actually are so daring/insane/adventurous that we'd be motivated to do such a nutty endeavor.

fuggin spill it already :)

Maeda has a KAT with some big ass turbo he found. Our friend Mark from Slidesquad/Turbonetics says that the turbine looks a lot like the upgrade kit for SRs. About T3/T4 size or something... Anyways, i know you two don't see eye-to-eye, but he's the man to talk to. Heh.

My friend has a SOHC one with a t3/t4. He's been running 8psi daily since he installed it January of this year. I'll try to get pics.

What's the advantages/disadvantages of having the filter right after the turbo? with no intake piping? Just like the first picture Gladman put.

From my point of view, it seems that the air would have to travel less, and less travel means more intake. Then again, i am a newb. I was thinkin of also boosting my SOHC, so looks like i'll be doing alot of reading, searching, and saving. Im a poor ass, so my custom hood bracket is pretty much a bungeecord.
:naughty:

I think you mean just before the turbo.

I really don't think it makes a difference short or long really.... thats the sucking side not the pressurizing side. (If you are doing maf before the turbo make sure its 12 inches away and you'll avoid stalling problems.)

and Makoto,
Everyone and their mother is KAT nowadays.
Nobodies "nuts" anymore. Everything comes out of a kit!
There's nothing daring about turbo-ing a motor that has some forged bits, and dual oil squirters per cylinder. The KA is practically made for it.

A local guy here used to boost his SOHC KA... 'til it blew up.

But it was pretty effin' quick. He's had a few of 'em.. he doesn't posto n here much anymore.

I'll see if I can get him to stop by and chat about it.

No advantage. I did it to save space and because i didnt have time to do a nice intake yet.
