I recently ended up with a high flow cat for a 94 down car, it looks like it would bolt in place of the hollow cat on my 95. I was considering removing the forward (up by the manifold) cat and replacing the hollow one underneath the passenger compartment with the functional s13 one I have. I do know I would need to relocate the 2nd o2 sensor back a couple feet from where it is now and that wouldn't be that hard,
but what I need to know is if the headpipe from a s13 dohc motor will bolt up to a s14 manifold, and if so, will it fill up the same distance/space left by removing the stock s14 cat and headpipe? if the s13 headpipe won't work on the s14 manifold, will the s13 manifold fit on the 95+ motor?
what about a 94 down aftermarket header with the 94 down pipe?
I got this random tech cat that was supposed to fit 91- 97, well it fits a 95 allright, only problem is it fits in a place where there wasn't a functional converter to begin with, so I don't really consider it much of a performance upgrade. Has anybody heard of anyone relocating the cat on a 95 up like I am describing? please let me know!!! I don't know exactly what benefit (if any) this would have performance wise, but I have the thing, and I would just as soon move the red hot catalytic converter away from the engine bay. underneath the the car where it belongs ;-) When you get a cat back for a 95 up car, does it start at the fake cat or the real cat?
thanks!
