I am getting ready to add a FMIC (Greddy) to my S13 and was told that this requires you removing the bumper support from behind the radiator...
I see that everyone who has done this has a really noticable gab between their lights & bumper. Is there any work around to this?

if you haven't already purchased the greddy one, look at the boostdesigns intercooler kits. They're affordable, come with all the couplings and clamps, and they're good for like 350-400hp and don't require and removal of the bumper support. You do however have to trim the lower part of the bumper that runs back to the a/c condenser

Do you have a pic of one installed? I just want to check to see the quality of the FMIC.

i'm sure I can find one. Shoot me your email, and i'll send it to you this evening. Its really nice quality, and its $550 for the I/C, piping, and couplings

click on the online store, and of course go to intercoolers, they have two available, and they use greddy cores i believe.

k, first off... the bumper support is NOT behind the radiator... think about that one, if your bumper support were behind it, either the radiator would be outside the car, or the bumper would be hollow... kinda pointless either way.
The bumper support CAN be used, it just requires some trimming around the middle section, takes about 20-45mins with a sawzall, depending on your eyeballing and sawing skills.
Not sure what you mean on bumper gap... in a S13, the bumper support does NOT hold the bumper up in any way. My support was removed before I went strawberry face, let me tell you, the bumper is rediculously secure. I was able to jump on it and it barely moved (I was getting frustrated at not being able to find the last few screws, heh). So if you've seen S13s w/saggy bumpers, I dunno what's going on there, but it has nothing to do with the bumper support.
Here's my car before my conversion... what gap? (that's a GReddy V-SPL):

The whole purpose of the bumper support is to meet the US safety requirements of having 5mph bumpers. Many other countries don't even bother. For example, the JDM S14 doesn't even have a bumper support, just headlight supports.
Do a search on bumper supports, this was talked about in depth a month or 2 ago, it was a long thread.
oh ya... don't be surprised if people flame ya for your sig ;) fair warning.

I was talking and typing at the same time to I mean to say bumper instead of radiator. Yes, it is quite obvious to me that the bumper support would not fit behind the radiator.
The gap only appears on the s13 JDM headlights & not the pignose front end.
Why would anyone flame me for my sig?

lol explain to me how. Theres nothing else attached to the bumper other than the sides if you do not use the bumper support. Being poly urethane, it will sag unless u somehow rig it yourself.
