Anyone have any problems with their Origin bumper? Particularly an s14. I tried putting on the bumper today and where the bumper support/reinforcment is, is too big. The bumper wont fit around it. The onlyt thing I can think of is that it was made for the Japanese s14s since their reinforcement is smaller Did this happen to anyone else? Howd you fix it? I start cutting away at the back of the bumper but dont wanna cut too much more. Anything helps. Thanks.
Emailing Origin as well.

The corners wont clear huh? Try cutting the whole corner off and see if that helps. Thats wut i ended up doing when i tried to put my bumper on.

I do believe the Japanese has smaller support. I had fitment problem with the Origin kit as wel,but for S15 front. The part where the front bumper meets with the fender was way too big and wouldnt let the bumper and fenders bolt up, so I had to sand it down really good. How did your rear bumper fit? Mine required a lot of sanding and heat gun action.

with most aftermarket bumpers the bumper support is in the way. It was for mine too, body shops can cut up the support bar to make it fit.

fliprayzin240sx: yeah its the sides/corners, the middle fits fine b/c it flexes.
Y3llowS14: I think the sides wehre the fender and bumper meets is "thick". Ill probably have to sand that down too. My rear bumper is version select so it fit fine. Just gotta sand a bit.
p11driver: My Greddy Gracer bumper was fine. I know a few people with Version Select bumpers that fit just fine. Maybe its japanese bumpers. I dont know but i know the support needs to get cut badly!! haha.
infinitexsound: ahhah NOOO! you will not get my bumper!! :fawkd:
Siizzzoooo: yeah...haha thought about just taking it off. Id rather have SOME protection! :hsdance:

Most body kits do require removal or modification of the bumper beam, I sell body kits pretty much all day long so I have a little experience in the field...
My father is a structural engineer at GM and freaked out completely when I told him I had no front and rear bumper reinforment bars. The he let me in on a little secret. Those bars are ment to save damage at 10mph and under. Any frontal collision faster than that and your looking at a total most of the time. Regardless, if I hit anything at 10 mph or less, I have much more expensive things to worry about than no bumper beam. There is about $2500 of equipment chilling in front of the beam, that won't be saved.

i thought unless it was OEM aero, bumper support trimming was always required. if you want your bumper support cut away what you need to fit the bumper.

I Dare u to ziptie it.... guaranteed it will be gone LOL.....Picked up my sideskirts today.. and 1 wheel from a set of 4... 3 to go.... i mocked it up, like whoa.... trim time . i guess this is when a cut off wheel and a DA comes in handy ... thank god i still have all my autobody tools..makes my life alot easier fitting things nicely,...... now why did i quit the trade?

Ghostuss: why do u care so much about looking like every other 240 in the bay? With the recent release of cheap affordable body kits nowadays everyone's gonna be sorta similar....it all comes down to stance and wheels that will make the car...
My Version Select bumper fits right over my bumper support :)
just take off the bumper support and cross your fingers you wont have a severe front end collision

So dood up at my school put on the origin bumper on his 95 s14 and didnt paint the sucker. Mind you its not the conservative one its the super low ass one, and for conversation sakes , without the rest of the kit attached regardless if its painted or not, PUT THEM ALL ON, That guy looks fuckin stupid  . Swear some people i mean its cool and and all for some bumpers that you can get away with but with the super low origin bumper plus this guy has spray painted stock se's on, god do you want me to go on? He's just trying to be a cool guy. :coold: anyhoo Back to business, Sounds kinda scary taking out the bumper support. Seems logical at a 10mph crash of why it would be there but shit if thats the only way it could fit and i just got it, HACK AWAY!!! HACK THAT SHIT DANIEL!!!!! Minus well, gotta make it fit some how.

lol wow wish i had the fingers to count all the cars in my city with fiberglass bumpers unpainted...and i love the mustangs here with F&F stylings....those are dope too they got N1 design mufflers yo...who ever said muscle cars cant be JDM TYTE are bloody liars..
reason why u dont see many zenki's at all is because of the fact that most ppl who have them go for the front end conversion..took me awhile to get use to my zenki front end... but i finally did.... and wouldnt change it.

actually JDM cars do not have rebars/support on almost all cars (front and back)

why not just custom fab a STRONGER steel support?

Makoto: haha cause im lazy.
yeah i really wanted to do this myself actually
after getting in a fairly low speed crash and demolishing my front end on impact...i had mine put back in...after replacing the core support and a few hours on a frame machine

Hey Bory...have i told you that my bumper is being held by 5 zip ties for the last eh......4 years now??? Lets just say, im a firm believer in using zipties after my lil "incident" Lets just say i ended up in a ditch, my bumper was in one piece but it was across the road. If it wasnt ziptied, it would have been in 4897592059847 pieces. :p
As for the metal bumper, the reason why jdm kits wouldnt fit is because the JDM bumper has a thinner bar compared to USDM. Most of the time, its the corners *trim the corners or cut off left of where it attaches to the frame* If you look at my bumper, all i got left is the piece that attaches the frame, only reason i got it is cuz it holds my bumper up. I cut the center and the corners off. Like been said, if you get into accident, cross ur fingers your gonna be able to walk again... :x:

haha suckers. b*magic uras immitation fit with no trimming at all. however, the reinforcement was visible beneath the bumper and looked whack. i took mine off completely for the fmic. i might get another one and copy it with those steel bars home depot sells, weld 5 of em together than make 2 arms of 2 steel bars welded together to bolt to the frame rails. that shit will be very strong indeed.
