i was planning to get a set of obx headers and have an exhaust piped up custom for my car. but my friend told me that i should use stock piping and jus put the muffler on and leave everything the way it is. but im still thinking about getting the exhaust anyway in a 2 and 1/2 or 2 and 3/4 jus incase i want to get a turbo later on and im thinking that pacesetter headers wouldnt be bad now because they are the same size as obx. (pipe size)

Get the OBX header. I would also definantly get a 3" manderel bend exhaust, even if you never plan on going turbo. Wether or not it's custom is up to you. KA's love a 3" exhaust. You can bet on over 10hp gain to the wheels just from the exhaust.

Of coarse this is all, if you like horsepower, which I'm assuming your friend doesn't.

3" mandrel bent exhaust. Save the rest for a turbo kit.

don't waste cash on NA, unless its NA prep for a KA that is going boost eventually, don't wast cash on NA parts. don't get a header, just get an air filter and adapter, don't get a full intake system. save cash go boost, your butt dyno, car, and soul will thank you later.

i hate to ask this question in here, but it seems appropriate, whats the diameter size of the obx header piping?

you could just get an ebay header and then get any SR downpipe to save money.

i know someone that tried a weird ebay header and it fit/worked/didnt leak. just goes multicolor after a few days.

The 4 runners are 1.75" o.d..
The 2 mid sections are 2.0" o.d.
2.5" o.d. at the exit.
The wall thickness is around a 1/16th.

hotshot header, custom exhaust, with magnaflow muffler.... nice sound, and a noticeable increase in performance....

if ur going turbo ur gonna hafta replace the headers with a turbo header because the n/a header goes down to the downpipe + cat.. when a turbo header goes to turbo.. then downpipe etc...

save up your $, get a quality exhaust for now.. buy the turbo header later...

Pet Peeve: It is a Header, not Headers. There is only one, no need to pluralize. Stop it! :D

oh thank you....i just thought of something, what exactly is the piping size of a stock header on a SOHC? i dont know how much of a difference in size an obx would compare to a stock, would it be safe to assume the stock is around 1" in diameter?

If you're going to buy an intake or header for your KA even though you plan on going turbo in the near future, find it used that way you can recover all your money when it's time to turbo.
