Alright i've been looking at it.. and while it is tempting to go w/ a forced induction path, it looks like there is still a lot of potential left in the motor without them, i'm guessing w/ increreaced compression it should be easily capable of 200+ hp. Actally its Hp/L is really low (64.5) hell my 91 accord puts out 63.6 and thats a pretty tame engine (although it does have vtec) Can anyone provide dyno results for intake, exhaust, chip mods? Where exactly is the chokepoint in these engines (resonator boxes, cylinder heads, headers etc)? I do however see that its only running 9.2:1 compression, that probably could be the reason its great for turbos, but not exactly a great n/a without changin out the pistons. I know this took really long, but any insight to my ignorance is appreciated.

Ok, first off, NA a stock KADe is not that bad off in its performance figures. It puts out 155hp and around equal to that in torque . For a 4 cylinder NA engine those are not shabby. think about the fact that the 1970 240z L24 6 cylinder put out the same kind numbers and you will understand what I am talking about.
Now there are several bolt on mods you can do to improve on that without evening bumping your compression up.
Your idea that its compression is low is off base for a stock engine its at the upper range of Turbo applications i.e. its a little higher than it should be compression ratio wise.
Now , first off you can free up HP a number of ways on our engines. change the stock airbox out for a custom intake and air filter. open up your stock exhaust to 2.5 piping. those together should be able to give about 10 more combined. Next thing to do is cut down on your rotating mass to get back some of the hp that is robbed by it,i.e. take off your clutch fan and go electric fan. Lighten your flywheel, stock flywheels can stand to have 5-6 pounds taken off and it does make a large difference in acceleration. Remove the secondary butterfly valves in your intake manifold you will pick another 5-6 Hp right there at the expense of some of your bottom end torque.
If you really want to see good gains get a Jim Wolf Technologies ECU upgrade. You will pick up another 10 off that and if you install the JWT cams then you will pick up about 20 overall with the ecu and still pass smog tests.
Now with everything I just gave you you will be pushing the 200HP mark with ease. So if you decide to bump your compression to 10.5:1 then you crest the 200hp mark.
Fact is the moderator of socal 240sx.org is running a engine setup like I have described without the pistons or the flywheel. He is putting out around 200Hp and has dyno sheets for it.
So the KA is no slouch in the NA department.

I have a lightened flywheel and I am going boosted. I expect to be pushing 225 at the wheels with 7-8 pounds of boost on a stock engine except my lightened flywheel.

Also porting and polishing the head will help the flow. If you do that along with the other stuff you'll get a few more ponies there too

Don't forget a good street clutch and perhaps an LSD to put that newly found power to the pavement.
Our cars respond very well to mods, especially those ones that drift noted.
