It will cost more time & money (esp. time, and most likely money) to get one direct from Japan.
Also, who would buy this engine for you, crate it, take it to the dock, stick it in a container, and do all the paperwork in Japan?
And then customs? omgbbq
Too much hassle; buy it from a shop.

It would be a pain in the ass to do it yourself. I'm familiar with importing stuff from Japan, because that is what I do at work all day. Although, it's mainly farm equipment (with something for me once in awhile).. but it's alot of BS involved.

*************DANGER DANGER DANGER****************
if you are planning to imoirt a mortorset from japan you better at least have 3-6 months to make sure everything heads out as planned. It coast me $2100 (not a typo) to ship back my S15 motorset. Plus The company I origionally got setup to ship out got shut down for a customs inspection so I had to go with another. Anyways my friend Mike (You rock) is hadeling all that stuff from over in japan for me. If you want to know more, I could probibbly get ahold of him for you.

It cost you $2100 to ship a single motorset back? I could get a 20ft container for about that... fill it with whatever a want, besides a full car.

Well, you could put a full car in there too, if you were so inclined.
They'd just chop it in half once it got here, but you'd still get it.
