if i recall correctly

in my humble opinion

Cookies are incredibly small, relatively insignificant, files that websites leave on your computer with stuff like your name, the products you looked at, and whatever. As a general rule, the only sites that look at your cookies, are the same ones that left them - and at that, they only look at the ones they left. It's just a means of knowing to say "Hi Bob!" when you go back there. They're no big deal, and people should not fear them.

Actually, it's not even possible for one website to look at a cookie left by another. Cookies are used for a lot of things, keeping you logged in every time you come here on your computer for example is one thing that a cookie does. Basically, a cookie is just a long term variable that is stored on the client's computer instead of in memory.

A lot of people will tell you that cookies can be used for malicious purposes, but it's really a bunch of bullcrap.

You actually get Spam that has something you want? Almost all of mine is "get out of debt" "Viagra delivered to your doorstep" or "Wild midgets with Donkey's". Never actually got something interesting. Goto www.downloads.com and download the program "Ad aware" it's pretty good in rooting out "spyware"
