I know this is all personal preferance but I want to see what you guys would go for out of these three as I am having a hard time deciding. Any reasons as to why or why not would be nice also. Thanks guys

i'm in the same boat and i chose the HKS HI power...too many around here has the Apexi N1 single and duals, one guy has a Blitz Nur on his SR and its pretty nice...somewhat loud for a turbod motor...i love how the N1 duals sound but theres atleast 4 of the guys here that has em and no one has the HKS yet so i'm picking it...and i hear that HKS is top notch stuff so it can't be bad...btw i sold my Uras exhaust for this...shit was LOUD

Blitz Nur Spec R = This bitch is loud but she sounds MEAN. I personally dont like the angle it comes out at but its personal opinion, I also dont like the rounded can design. It is full stainless

Apex N1 = One peice exhaust so its very expensive to ship, if you can pick it up locally you'll save a lot of money. Its a great exahust and extreamly quiet (The stainless EVO version anyways), I can't even hear it cruising in my S14 hardly. Then again my B&M Shifter is LOUD.

HKS Hiper = Haven't heard this exhaust in person however I've heard one on a turbo IS300 and it was also extreamly quiet. The drawback to this exhaust is that it is mild steel. That may not be an issue if you are in the southern states but I have had mild steel exhausts before and they rusted through after 2 winters.

I've heard the blitz and Apex EVO on SR's only, KA will be louder of course.

depends if youre na or turbo. hks has a really good dia for na, about 2.55 in (65mm). the other two are (IMO) too big. my friend has a blitz, measured it with my hand to be 3+ inches. she said she lost low end. really hinders the scavenging effect...but shit, it looks hella hard. not a fan of the N1. had a hi power on my s13 and loved it. not too loud, but for some reason sounds mean right when you want it to :).

the Blitz Nur Spec is my 2nd fav exhaust! LOVE the sound of that thing!

N1 is WAY over-used since it became popular, and is now on every APC powered ricer around. Still a good exhaust, but definitely the town bicycle of exhausts unfortunately :(

I've never been a big fan of the HKS exhausts, but that's just based on looks... as far as performance, any of the exhausts you're looking at (as long as they're full catbacks) are great. Go by looks, price, sound, and ground clearance to make your choice, because they're all pretty equal performance wise :)

come to think of it, if your considering the N1, you should get the ssautochrome and weld a resonator (if you think its too loud). it should come out to be 300 for a brand new exhaust

i used to have the HKS Hiper and i really liked it, the only reason i got rid of it was because i was getting tickets for it left and right in VA.... i got an RSR now..but outta the three i would get the hiper and definately get the 3" one that the mistake i made by getting the 2.5 hiper...

my blitz just came in. im replacing twin apex's on custom piping. like the above poster said, apex is 1 piece, so shipping is a [email protected] prolly why every one here goes universal cans on custom pipe.

the blitz and apex will be equal for power, the hks will have a little less, but a little more midrange torque. the hks is steal piping, unless u buy the 25th aniversary set. the hks does not offer very much ground clearance as aposed to the blitz. but the blitz is the loudest, and somewhat too flashy for my tastes.
just my .02

I went with the underdog and chose tanabe. Since i saw it on the signal car, i bought and it sounds great. Very loud and has a crazy jdm look. I sell the N1 all the time and the HKS high power and both of them, the pipe bends before the muffler, the tanabe doesnt and has a crazy tilt and slant that i have never seen before.

i have the blitz nur and i am very happy with it, i did lose low end power but did gain high end.....drawback on it is that it is loud as hell but looks really nice and dont seem like it is played out, i am the only one with one in my city, and if you also read the specs on it for hp gains it is right up there

I had the Nur on my SR Sil-Eighty and it sounded mean. Now I have an NA s14 with the N1 duals. Go for the Blitz.

All of them really depens on turbo, non turbo. and with or without straight pipe. My recommendation is resonated straight pipe for sure on alll applications, or stockcat/high flow. But NOT test pipe.

My picks if your turbo, based on them being quiet

Single N1

Nur spec

3 in hiper

3.5 in hiper

Dual N1

3'' exhaust being too big for 240 NA is a myth.

It gives more power in the peak because of less backpressure from larger diameter piping.

The only drawback from having it, is you lose a little low end.

And, personally, If I had to choose between those 3... I'd just get whatever is the cheapest to acquire, because it makes no difference, because they're all N1-type 3'' exhausts....
with different sound levels...

(doesn't matter how loud or quiet it is in so cal. if it's got a big shiny tip, you're getting pulled over.)

This is why I ended up buying a $200 shipped pacesetter 2.5'' piping exhaust (i'm not getting SR anyways... so who cares)

Only drawback to this shit is.. the two-pieces don't connect with flanges, they just slip on to each other.

That, and it's from Pacesetter. :madfawk:

but, it's alright because the muffler canister looks like a stock 240SX muffler canister, and it's supposedly pretty quiet.

Ahh.. I'm going off the subject. GO ahead and buy the least expensive one.

Well, being quiet isn't really an issue around here as there is a shitload of hicks with straight pipe blue bottles on their trucks and the cops just don't give a shit. Basically I want the meanest sounding one. The car is KA but not for very long. I already had an sr for it but my car is an s14 and it was an s13 redtop that I bought for my '89 and plans got changed. I am anal and won't put the wrong motor in the car so someone actually just bought the redtop today and I'll be ordering my s14 sr shortly. After everything I have read I am thinking the blitz will probably be the one I go with. Out of the Blitz and the 85mm HKS which one will have the most aggressive throaty tone???

I have the Apex N1 single too. I got it for $300 brand new in the box so I'm really happy with it.

I was looking for an HKS Hiper but they go for $550 so I jumped on the N1 because of the $300 price. BTW HKS has a stainless steel 25th anniversary edition for $550 too. Phase2 sells them.

but you just stated it right there. i agree that it is a myth in that people think that 3" is totally useless. depends on what you want. low end or high end. im assuming everybody wants high end, cuz imo the 2.4 has plenty of low end. but i went with the median 2.55" (65mm).
