after picking up about 5 bottles of hard liquor for my friend's party at his lake house, me and my friend were approaching a stoplight when a camaro comes out of the mall parking lot spinning the tires to catch up but i don't pay attention. i hadn't seen my friend in a while so he was asking if i didn't anything to my car i'm like blah blahbhlal and blahaha. then a cheesy white civic with chrome 18's, matching white stickers all over and tinted windows, something honda boys never do anymore is to tint the windows out of all things! and then another camaro and trans am pull up behind me and the camaro.

they're revving their engines and teasing the civic and they really didn't notice me much. then the civic starts revving to 8000 and his muffler sounded so funny, it was buzzing like a bee. the first camaro joins the fun and starts to rev. i'm like what the hell! i take it out of gear pull the E brake and rev to 3000 a few times. ahh the sweet sound of the stock looking HKS exhaust. my car shakes when i hit the gas so it adds to the effect the light turns green, and we're in a double turn lane so to show the 240SX's handling skills, i let the camaro get waaay ahead. then i catch up instantly and fly around the turn and we do a short race as soon as our speeds match and we were out of the turn. we tied but had to slow down, and the camaro pulled forward because i had a car in front of me, and the civic pulls up. my friend rolls down the window and yellls, ahhh look at that fuckin rice burner, rrrrrrrrrrice burner! i'm like man shut up! don't be like that, plus there's no telling what he's done! turns out he didn't have anything but you just don't act like that, if they haven't said anything yet

so now the first camaro evens up with me again and the firebird, with open headers it sounded like, was DYING to get up with the camaro but i wouldn't let him. so me and the camaro race, i started off in 2nd gear from about 3000, we both punch it and i jump a quarter of a car length, then he catches up, and by then the race up to about 50-60 and we tied!

my friend said damn you just tied with a camaro! i still had over 600 RPM to go before i had to shift into the next gear. we raced again and i finally got into the 3rd and it was the same outcome. 4th gear for our cars are awesome, but i didn't get into 4th. the guy in the firebird was pissed and wanted to race me, but he would have killed me, and the civic was racing him while me and the camaro were racing, and they turned down another street and kept racing. after that for about 3 miles the camaro stayed behind me and didn't race again. my friend said he had his girl in the car with him, and he had to have been embarassed

yeah i know, big deal, you had to be there, but you try tying with a camaro and see how YOU feel. especially if you were almost the proud owner of a fixed up z28 only two weeks ago. look like i'll be keeping my 240SX.

it was a z28 possibly an automatic though he had dark colored five star wheels and exhaust but it did have the z28 badging. now the trans am behind us..he was quick. when the camaro and i raced, the trans am gunned it and almost ran into the back of me

I don't care what the #'s are or what pepz say those TA's are fast and the camaros aren't!! I've driven all stock trims in both(except a firehawk) and the TA's are awesome but th camaros just aren't as nice. I don't understand why not but everytiime I got out of a Camaro I think.....I'd rather have a TA if I had to chose between the two. Either way though nice job James!!! Way to represent!

Good story! As everyone should know by now....I'm a Chevy man at heart and feel bad fer the Bow-Tie family after reading this story. But proud of mah extended family of 240sx'ers!

I had a small race today....Wuz goin down the interstate about 85 or 90 and a friend of mine came up on me...fast. He has a '00 Buick Rivera with the supercharged 3.8L, 245hp I think. Anyway, there wuz a car in front of me goin a little slower, like 80, so I couldn't do anythang yet. As soon as that car got outa the way I shifted from 5th to 3rd and punched it....my friend did too. I walked off and left him! He wuz kinda close until I shifted into 4th and then that wuz it. I wuz gone! I ran it up to about 105 or so and then slowed back to 90 (funny...90mph being slower).

I hadn't cliped the yellow/green stripe wire or disconnected the trans sensor yet so I didn't want to (or couldn't) go much faster.

So guess what I did tonite? Yep, cut the wire and disconnected the sensor. I put the car on Jack stands and pegged the speedo in the garage! He, he that's kewl!

Didn't have any problems. Works fine!
