I was trying to power brake at a stop light, im just afraid that i would ruin the engine and brake system. Is it safe for the engine and brakes? Can someone please give me good instructions of how to proporly power brake. Thanks
there is no good way to powerbrake, I did it once but its just not good for your brakes and probably more.

basically as you start to burn out you hit the brakes enough to keep you from moving forward a significant amount and stay on the gas. Since brakes are proportioned to have more stopping power in the front than back you can keep your rear wheels spinning and the front ones still or with very slight rotation. If you hit the brakes to hard however you just screw everything, not hard enough and you simply do a small burn out. Not exactly great for your brakes......but driving hard is hardly ever "good" for your car.

I have figure out an easy way to do it, but you really shouldn't do it......tires are not cheap, not to mention if you really don't know what you are doing you have a chance of screwing your clutch up.........thats if you drive a manual.

what i found it to be easiest is to position your right heal on the brake and apply the toe of your shoe to the gas. Dumping the clutch with my left foot and then applying my left foot to the brake so i can use my right to control the throttle for the rest of the burnout. You have to press hard on the brake with your heal and it tkes some practice to be able to do it right. I just don't suggest doing it, i thought it was cool at first, but I quickly woke up and realized the affects it had on my car......especially the cost of tires <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
