brake light ?

Well i just got a simple question, wheneveri turn on my car my brake light on the dash comes on. i dont kno why, i got the ebrake down and all and i cant figure out why the light is on. the car drives fine and brakes fine but im just confused why the light is on. :tweak: . any info/help would be appericated. btw if it helps my car is a 93 240sx.

1st check brake fluid level
2nd possibility is the sensor in brake master res. is failing.

The same thing happens on mt 180sx ca18det.
the light turns on and off even though the brake is down. but when i go fast it turns off i think its something different. but then again my speed cluster only works if i hit it hard every once and a while but i dont think its related to the brake light.

im pretty sure it has something to do with the adjustment. caus ei had that happen that when i turned some corners rather fast, the e-brake light would come on. i then had a look at the cable and it was loose. i just tightened the cable and then it didnt happen again.

thread starter didnt mention intermitent light flickering. but if u buy a new master and wanna check it before switching it out, plug new master cyl sensor in and hold M/C upside down, normally if sensor on old one is bunk light will go off when u drop ebrake...
