Are the $75 shifters in the ebay list above genuine does anyone know? I was looking at the other ebay short shifter thread and didn't really see them mentioned? Which shifter from that list would you buy? I am leaning towards the Nismo shifter if its genuine?

Pretty sure that is not Nismo at all. Nismo did not make a short shifter to my knowledge, what they made was a solid shifter. More oppinons? Offtopic I want to go to NewZealand so incredibly bad. The more pictures I see the more I think of how ugly it is here

NISMO does not make a short shifter. Even when you go to the dealership (in the states).....the catalog features the C's shifter.

yeah man, new zealand is the hotness. went there a few years ago, BEAUTIFUL place.
what a poorly made knock off at that. stay away from any 2 piece shifters...they're bad news
if you want SUPER notchy get B&M
if you want smooth, stock feel but shorter throws (not as short as B&M) get a C's type drop in shifter

i thought nismo did make a short shifter. i read it somewere on this forum
Nismo does make a short shifter. It was only advertised as something like 10% shorter throw, which isn't much.

As stated above, Nismo makes a solid shifter, not a short throw shifter. That knockoff actually looks pretty good, and it's a good scam to make money by "engraving" the logo on it.

haha that looks like a complete knock off of the Mr Cs...aka OBX shifters. Honestly, the OBX isnt too bad. Better than stock. I had the notorious "2-piece" OBX shifter, once the top piece popped off, i got a allen key type shift knob and hooked it up to the lower piece. Threw away the top piece and VOILA. I got a short throw, short shifter. =p
Now im going B&M knock offs.

There are a couple ways to quickly spot knock-offs. First, companies don't want to deal with false advertisement so they are going to get you to think it's the real deal, without straight-up saying it. Look at the shifter auction. They don't say NISMO shift knob. (that would be false adv.) They instead say short shifter-NISMO. Putting the NISMO second makes a disconnect. Also they never in the auction say "This is a NISMO short shifter". They just say "NISMO logo ingraved", which would lead you to believe it's NISMO although they didn't ever say it. Anywho, if you look at auctions closely you can tell if they're knock-em-offs.

I thought that the real Nismo shifter was identical to the Mine's "Direct Shift Pro" unit, but I might be mistaken...

The real NISMO one, IIRC, is black and looks almost just like the stock one.
