ECU eeprom burning?

has anyone ever attempted at taking out their ecu's eeprom and reading it onto a PC via an eeprom burner?

anyone have the programs to alter fuel maps etc?

i have a 89 s13 ca18det silvia (jap import) i live in au.

I know how to burn Eeproms, but I wouldn't try it for my car.  My knowledge of the original programming isn't the best.

i'm gain to do it =) just i need , a program to do it with, and the eprom burner i can borrow =)
found something called Rom Editor, but its in japanese and the support files etc are in japaneses and the latest downloads are l/p'd...

1) Desolder the chip, and then solder a socket in it's place.
2) Dump the code from the eprom into your computer.
3) Determine where the pertinent parts of the code are, and what the heck all those funny numbers actually mean.
4) Write a program so that changing those pertinent parts isn't ridiculously confusing.
5) (optional) Offer the result to the public, and make a lot of money, or just offer the service (such as, for instance, JWT), and still make a lot of money.
