What about a headunit/amp/subwoofer combo.

I didn't see this unit on your site but it is what I was looking for:

Pioneer Premier DEH-P740MP
(for all wondering, it is an MP3 player)

plus:

Logic Sound Lab GSX26HC amp
and either
2 MB Quartz RWC254 (10")
or 2 Orion Xtreme 10DVC

(of the two types of sub, not sure which is better, but the Orion has a better sensitivity rating)

perhaps a 1Farad capacitor in there

Just a thought......................

damn, those are some pretty good deals, well for the audiobahn stuff at least. Compared to the prices i see around san diego, that is at least a 400 dollar savings.
buta anyways, how much for a cap? how much are they, do you have digital monitor top ones/just regular ones? and what brands?
i am looking for either 1/2 or 1 frad, i am pushing about 200-250 rms so what do you recommend i get.
and lastly, i would also like all the hardware needed (if it already doesnt come with it or if you just want to throw it in for free <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> ) and how much.
ohh and also if you carry like 4 inch or 5 1/2 inch speakers let me know.
thanks

For capacitors i recommend only Digital Audio $155 DACAP3 (http://www.ballistic-mobile.com/item.cfm?id=19&cat1=Mobile%20Audio&cat2=Capacitors&cat3=) or the $110 DACAP4 (http://www.ballistic-mobile.com/item.cfm?id=20&cat1=Mobile%20Audio&cat2=Capacitors&cat3=). If you need a amplifier installation kit then i would get the 8 gaugeDigital Audio DAKIT1 (http://www.digitalaudioinc.com/home.cfm) for and extra $40. Unfortunately i cannot get the best prices on installation accessories but this is still a very good price for the amount of quality. For 4" Speakers (http://www.ballistic-mobile.com/items.cfm?cat1=Mobile%20Audio&cat2=Multi%2DAxle%20Speakers&Cat3=4) or 5 1/4" Speakers (http://www.ballistic-mobile.com/items.cfm?cat1=Mobile%20Audio&cat2=Multi%2DAxle%20Speakers&Cat3=5%2E25) i currently dont have any 5 1/2" speakers.

If you want to get the Logic Sound Lab GSX26HC then i would have to strongly urge you to get the Orion XTR10D (http://www.orioncaraudio.com/xtr10.html) do to the fact that the MB Quart subs are not designed to handle a lot of power. They were designed to give you the best possible sound and that is very easy to do w/ only 150w of power, but this is not to say that the Orion's will not give you great sound, b/c they will.

but i am already running 4 guage wire, is that too big for the cap?

Ballistic-Mobile.com
03-29-2002, 01:08 PM
First off, there is no need what so ever for you to have 4 gauge power wire. &nbsp; That is drawing a lot of current from your battery at one time and if you like to listen to your radio when the car is turned off then your battery will be dead in about 10 minutes. &nbsp;I would recommend you switching to 8 or 6 gauge. &nbsp; But, if you don't want to rewire your car then yes you can use a 4 gauge wire but you must get a ring terminal to attacht it to the cap.

silvia240

i used to run almost 800rms in my old car... i just pulled the amp wireing kit off that car and put it in my car.. but i just have a small system now... &nbsp;i thought this wire is pulling too much juice out of my battery...
one last question.. couldn't i just place an 8 guage wire from my battery to the fuse then from the fuse to the back of my car would still be 4 guage though.... &nbsp;that would suck less juice from my battery.. right???
thanks a lot for your help.

Aiwa also makes a very low priced cd/mp3 player.

The mb quart subs are very tight and boomy subs. &nbsp;Only downside is if you try and give them some power or get them loud they distort and just sound like poop.

If you are only running a 250watt amp there is no need for a cap. &nbsp;Leave your 4 awg wire alone. &nbsp;Having a larger gauge wire will do nothing to hurt you and will only help if you decide to go with a larger amp again. &nbsp;Trust me I ran 2K in my car and used 1/0 to a distro block and then 2 pieces of 4 awg. &nbsp; Now I'm running 1/0 to 2 and 4 awg in my truck which is running 6K with the help of 7 batteries and a HO alternator.
