recommended wheel spacers size?

i was wondering what mm size spacers i should run with 17x8 +30 and 17x9 +38 offset wheels to make them look flush with the fenders.

Depends on the tire size and depends if your fenders are rolled or pulled or stock.

I have some 16x7 +38 and 16x8 +35 and I run a 10mm spacer up front, but just so I can clear my z brakes.

so can we clear a misconception with spacers? are they harmful for daily driving? spirited grip? drift? of course there will be exceptions and stories, but are there repeated incidents? how much is too much (dangerouse)? im going for a 16x7 +42 225/50/16. any suggestions or advise?

yea im kinda in the same situation, thinking about running 20mm spacers all around. not sure yet.
