So I have been on the search for proper coilovers for a long time now. I want to go with the 6/5 kgmm combo but nobody really offers that with all the features I desire. Right spring rates but no adjustable shock perch, Adjustable shock perch right spring rates but bad reputation and extremly expensive rebuilds, blah blah blah lame. So basically what I'm considering doing is purchasing the SPL parts coilovers, and putting on other springs. How worried should I be about these having proper dampening abilities? Is this just going to completly f it up and destroy the work they put so much effort into? Just give me some oppinons on this and if you know any companys who sell replacement springs holla at that too

That seems like an odd spring rate combo. Most coilovers youre going to find, from what it sounds like you are looking for, are going to be 8/6. Why not just do this? Not much worse than what you want, dont go through all the trouble. If you really want that wack ass spring rate, then get shock/spring combo, bilsteins+apexi springs or something like that.

Ground Control Coilovers... you can pick any springrate you want, and with those springrates, you can just use some KYB AGX shocks.

What he said.

And your springrate choice isn't too far off either, just be careful not to lower the car too much.

, bilsteins+apexi springs or something like that.

Where can you get bilsteins for a 240sx from?

Sorry that I dont like extremly stiff springs that make me bounce around all over the road and spin out in the rain. 8/6 and 6/5 are WAY different, not much different? Wtf? Shock/spring combo does not give near the amount of adjustability. My friend had GroundControl on his Accord, it was utter crap. They also would not allow me to have an adjustable shock perch, one of the features that is almost required for what I will be doing. Dont tell me my decision for what springs I want is wrong, I'm not asking about that. I KNOW those spring rates will be good, they have been proven. I'm going to go eyeball some of the Tanabe stuff now

hahaha.. or you can go get a set of zeal coilovers..
and we can custom valve and give you any spring rate you need =)
and.. as a matter of fact.. when you pruchase zeals for your 240sx.. you have choise of 8/6 or 6/4
so zeal = the shiz.. =)

Bounciness is not solely due to springrate, its due to insufficient damping of the springs... a little bit of driver awareness and car control will fix the rain part ;)

What about these accord GCs made the "utter crap"? Ground Control coilovers are used in just about any grassroots motorsport you can think of, and they the first choice for racers because they offer so much adjustability. You can pick any springrate because they use 2.5" springs, you can get used springs cheaply from other racers, you can match that springrate with a wide variety of shocks, and with Koni's revalving service, anything is possible. They are height adjustable, and work with most camber plates.... I don't see what other features you are looking for. It would also help to know application you plan on using this for.
