RUCA product qeustions

Well i need some after market RUCA's but im not sure what to get or what the difference in brands is.. i looked on ebay and there are some for lil over 100$ -3 and +3 degrees but the look the same as JIC or Battle version which are at least 250$ is there really a differnece or does anyone know??The ones on ebay actaully look like they have thicker brakets where the bolt in..

With the same questions as the original poster, is there a difference in design or material that might
differentiate the quality of known brand or one on ebay?

you can't tell from just looking at the parts. Really if coilovers can crack in half (JIC application) any of ur multiarm can go just like that. Especially the front ones since they are known to bent.

Even brand name parts can break. If I had the money I'd go for the more well known products like spl or powertrix, but that doesn't rule out cheaper alternatives. I know plenty of people with ebay branded adjustable tc rods and rucas that haven't had anything break at all. Hell some people with basic welding/pipe bending experience just make their own.

the main differences between the more expensive parts and the ones that cost less are material, manufacturing/machining quality, adjustability, quality of the rod end. just like anything in this world, buy the best you can afford and if that isn't much then just wait and save up.

I went with C-Tune for RUCAs. I am happy enough with the quality of the materials. Thick metal and solid feeling. I don't have anything to compare it to though.

I just purchased some RUCA's from a seller that I have established a pretty decent relationship with. My cost on them is $90, they are the full circle type and the quality was great. They are made in China or Taiwan (I don't remember), but were far superior to the other chinese suspension parts that I bought... They have a grease fitting for the heim joint, which is not teflon coated. That's one of the main differences between the name brand parts and the eBay generics (the teflon coated heim joint). I installed my eBay RUCA's and toe arms/rods, and everything seems fine, no weird noises, etc. For $90 I think it's well worth it. The name brand pieces are around or over $300 after shipping. The hiem joint with the zerk fittings (grease fittings) are junk for automotive use and not designed for this appilacation. You will end up replacing them inside of a year especially if you car is driven in the rain/snow/crap weather or in other words DD and not a show car.

Buy something with a teflon joint and good welds, it is a fairly integral part of your rear suspension and there is no reason to replace a perfectly good and strong OEM part with something that is crap. Just my .02, might as well save up for the rear deal.

The new powertrix line seems to be much nicer, teflon joints+ beefier welds and still not as pricy, its worth a look if your on a budget.

I sent you an e-mail w/ a pic of the RUCA's... As for what Norht240 said, I guess I'll find out living in Chicago how long they last... If for some reason they need to be replaced, then I'll replace them. I still won't regret spending $90 vs $300...

PS, the welds on the ones I have look great... Here's a pic for what it's worth...

whatever flows ur boat. I know a lot parts for cars are simple to reproduce and someone can just fibricate themselves. I actually support this since I hate ppl go worship JDM blindly. I got Silkroad products because they were actually cheap yet have same quality as Cusco and some name brands.
