im having the most trouble with these things... anyways.... when i bolted down all the speed bleeders(not super tight) i press the pedal.. and the caliper i open just kinda squirts out.... not with alot of pressure.. and all the other bleeders are just kinda dribbling out when there supposed to be closed..... anybody else having the same problem? or are mine broken?

i brought them from splparts.com... i sent them an email already.....

Try tightening it a little more, its only something like a quarter turn to open and close the valve.

Post back if tightening them up fixes the problem. I have some but I haven't put them on yet.

yeah dude... they are closed all the way.... you shouldnt have to put a gorilla grip on it tho...... anyways... my rear passanger side caliper wont bleed with the speed bleeder... i had to put the stock bleeder back in....

i donno how these speed bleeders work, but you do know you need to bleed your calipers 1 at a time right? starting w/ the one furthest from the master cylender.

Only thing I can think of is they are still not tight enough or defective...I've had these for years and they work great.

yeah.. your description sort of sounds like your trying to bleed everything at once..

I know if you over tighten them, it can cause the speed bleeds to not function properly because the tip of the valve get bent, and the ball inside can't seal against the hole in the tip. Shouldn't leak though even then if tightened properly. Sure you got the right bleeders? Is it leaking around the threads or through the hole?

Speed bleeders are exactly like normal bleed valves except they have a spring and a ball check valve inside so that air can not re-enter the system when you stop pressing the pedal.

the leak was from the top... if you look really close you can see it just coming out... and no im not doing them all at once..... i dont know why its not working... 1/4 - 1/2 turn "one at a time" and i only got the front passanger side to bleed properly..... a couple times... now they wont even bleed.. oh well i got ahold of splparts and they said they will send me some new ones..... thanks for the help everybody..
