Ive been an autoxer for over 2 years now but for those 2 years I have simply ran STD (in the houston region, STS national class) with simple bolt ons.

2005 has brought on all sorts of confusion. The Houston region si slowly phasing out some classes i beleive im not 100% sure as i havnt been in attendance since dec 04 due to no car. I recently got my car up and running and i am trying to register for the march event. Since i last ran STD the car has a completly built KA-T and Turbo. I have tried to make sense of the online rule book. I have been told i can run STU if i keep street tires, but STU is no more, its now STO or something. If i want to run R compounds then i have to go to SM, or SM2.

I guess my question is what class can i join? I was planning on running STU untill the STO class came about. It seems like in the rule book the ST classes do not allow engine swaps or the adding of a turbo.

What do i do?
Thanks,
~Sam

you'll probably have to run SM, especially if you have R compounds.

To my knowledge you had to run SM with an engine swap or turbo, sounds like thats where you'll be.

turbo puts you in SM, and R compounds put you in SM. so yea, definitely SM.

i have a friend in a B18 civic hatch with street tires and he is in STU. Hes not the type to cheat and has run that class even when the national tour rolls through. So im still kinda confused.

any kind of engine swap automatically bumps you to SM. Even if its not much of an improvement, it still bumps you up.

Only if it's a factory 2-seater. SM allows the rear seats to be removed from a 4-seat vehicle.

Definetly can't run ST with the turbo added.

Basically if you can't figure it out where you belong, it probly means your in SM. :bigok:
