I'm not sure why you call them a knock off. Iridium is a material. It's newer technology. I mean, you don't say Nissan's are knock off's cause they didn't use fuel injection, or turbos first, and they sure didn't make the first car. I think that alot of what obx is doing is good. They're trying to bring performance products at very modest prices. People knock on these companies all the time, but I have an obx header, and a megan racing cat-back, and both were good quality and have performed beutifully.

alot of time companies use same manufacturer they just badge and label it different. like denso and obx. once cost $ another one $$$. difference not always drastic.

The difference is usually in marketing and R&D expenses.. Lots of money that has to be recouped by the companies like Denso in the price of their goods. Then once the product is built.. reverse engineering it is usually very simple, and if your supply chains don't require large amounts of marketing, you've just saved a ton of money that you can pass on to the consumer.

..occasionaly though things are substituted to create a large profit margin such as lesser materials, and less quality control. I think this has been happening less lately though, as it seems the knock-off companies are finding no one wants to buy shit.

I would avoid using any kind of cheap spark plug. My friends SR20 is in pieces now because his spark plug blew apart and the electrode scraped up the walls. Im pretty sure he detonated which caused the plug to fail but I would want the best quality plug I could buy just in case.
