i just recently had an hks ssqv installed and used a 1/8" hose to connect it to the wastegate....before i had the hose hooked up i could hear the familiar turkey sound but now that the hose is hooked up i hear a loud high-pitched whistle why is that?

Super seqeuntials sound like that. I guess the turkey sound is compressor surge is the blow off wasn't connected. You need that hose on there for it to work.

the turkey sound is the air rushing through the rubber hose you had connected. the SSQV whistles, thats how it sounds. you didnt know this before you bought it?

ur not supposed to use the hose from the wastegate. You are supposed to use a vaccum hose from the intake to the BOV. the hose for the wastegate should come from the hot pipe. just helping you out man. =]

you can always change out the core to a gold one for a more high pitch noise or the purple one for a silent approach

has anyone ever or know of anyone who just removed the whistle part. It's alright just driving around, but when your drifting w/ the windows down, and your bouncing on/off the throttle, it's starts to get quite annoying. Especially when in and out of tunnels where it's high pitch bouncing off the walls are really killer. Like a parrot screaming in my ear.

Re-circulate the bitch if you dont like the sound of it. And yah you hooking up your ssq vacuum line into your wastegate is baaaaad juju. Hook up the SSQ to one of the vacuum line nipple by the throttle body and the wastegate off somewhere in your hotpipe or IC.

thanks for the input, but you still haven't answered the question. Maybe it would have stood out more if I actually put a question mark at the end of the sentence.
