240 2NR

A couple weeks ago my 240 got broken into. Thankfully they just busted my window, grabbed my cd player and cracked the trim panel (ignoring my CD's, paperwork, sunglasses, etc). My new deck arrives this week and I fixed everything else for $60.
Only problem is when they yanked my deck they somehow jammed the HVAC control for the thermostat. For whatever reason the temperature is stuck about midway and I can't slide it more than a few millimeters.
I can't figure out what's actually causing the jam. Has anyone jammed their control while replacing a deck or had it get stuck and figured out how to fix it? For the life of me I can't figure out what they could have actually done to have jammed it, and the FSM isn't very specific about it's operation. My new deck arrives Wednesday and I'm hoping to solve this before I Install it.
Thanks in advance.
