This is like the third 240 tranny that I have done, not on my car, and it is deffinitly the most difficult. I cant get it to come all the way off, the edge of the bell housing is out about 3/4 of an inch and thats were it is staying, I have twisted, pried, hanked and anything else you can think of for quite some time. any sudjestions. thanks.

um, inda obvious things but you never know,
did you get all the bolts? there are like 3 that are really hard to reach
unbolt drive shaft?
unbolt starter?
unbolt slave cylinder?
unbult tranny crosmeber from tranny and exhaust?
take off all sensors from tranny
is it stuck on something? you kinda have to twist it a little bit, i forget wich way but i think its toward the passenger side.
good luck.

Thanks matt, yeah its all off, it almost feels like its catching on something inside the bellhousing or near the clutch. I am about to loose my mind trying ot figure this one out. any more help would be apreciated. thanks.

not quite sure which one you are talking about, the engine and tranny are pointing towards the ground, kinda, you mean the crank angle sensor, the one on the very top of the tranny, it shouldnt be catching, I have rotated the tranny several times trying it in different possitions, any body had the tranny just not want to come off. thanks.

I dont think that it is hitting on anything on the out side, the engine is already tipped pretty well to the back. it is however getting caught on the inside, is it possible that the pilot bushing is fused on the end of the tranny shaft, preventing the tranny from making it past the splines on the flywheel? any more thoughts?
