Just had to say that I wasn't sure if I liked the 350Z too much after seeing all of the pictures and shows about it but last night at the Denver Auto show, it had to be one of the nicest new cars out there, aside from Benz, BMW & Porsche.
It definetly looks alot better than I thought it would.
What is up with every company coming out with clear "Altezza" type taillights. Altimas, Eclipse, and a saw some others. It's kind of sad really.

Calgary's Autoshow was too shitty to have it...they just had a buncha stuff on it.
Compared to the FairladyZ32, the 350Z looks reaaaalllllly fahked up...but i sorta like it...
A lotta manufactures are trying to give their cars sorta afermarket looks, 17inch stock rims, centered tach and performance gagues, racing seats, a racing type wheel, and altezza styled tail lights...
I sorta like it tho, but early versions were lacking on the engine side of things...hipefully they'll inprove it.

Thats what I meant though. Before I thought it looked pretty shitty but in person its a whole new experience. It kind of gave me a new respect for it. Now I have no idea how it performs so that is another story but you gotta get em looking to make em want to see whats inside. On the same note, I thought the G35 was ugly inside and out and it didn't seem to carry over anything from the R34. As far as I'm concerned they are 2 completely different cars.

I would love to see the 350z in like a Black or Blue.. that would be sweet. I wanna test drive the track model. I bet they are gonna be Sweet.

I'm not big on the styling compared to the Z32. . And I hate the fact that there's no turbo option. . that is gay as hell. . But I do like the 5 different package choices, and carbon fiber driveshaft. . AND the interior. . I like that alright. . I'll have to see it up close. . and yeah. . in BLACK or blue. . I think a darker color would look tighter than a twelve year old. .

its not the same chassis . The R34 chassis lineage is dead as in they no longer make that series of chassis.
Now aside from that it is a different car especially if your thinking of the R34 GTR which is what most enthusiasts in the U.S. think of .
The G35 is the sports luxury sedan version of the Skyline . Nissan has always produced Skylines on this style in Japan . The killer super car coupe versions i.e. GTR's have always been the offshoot.
Hold your breath because if you like the 350z (I do) the GTR that is coming in a year will be pretty spectacular.
oh yeah koukis14 . Its not gay because it has no Turbo(350z) it puts out 280HP NA which is pretty impressive.
Also Z cars did not become Turbo cars till the 80's
The Original 240z was NA so in effect NIssan is taking it back to the roots which is a good thing.
Expect the Turbo car to be out in a few years.

Calgary's Autoshow wasn't too bad.
The RX8 and 350Z weren't in the dealerships in Calgary yet, so they couldn't bring them out... that was the reason it wasn't there. It's a dealership show, not a car trade show.
------
I don't think they'd make a turbo version of the Z...
doesn't seem like Nissan's hinted at that at all. It doesn't mean there won't be aftermarket companies who'll provide a turbo setup for it though.
isn't the Z's engine the same as the V35 GTR's engine? only the GTR will be a TT?

Well... not turbo to me is pretty gay. . I mean, look at the previous car. 280 HP? The previous Z had 300, and turbo is fairly inexpensive to add HP. Just seems like sort of a down grade from what it was. I dunno. . I like it... but.. ugh.

It may only have 280hp but it is going to have a faster 0-60 time and a faster 1/4 mile time, than the 300zx

ya Rob,
but the previous car(300ZX) was a pig in the weight department compared to the 350Z . Hence Turbo not being quite as necssary as long as horsepower hits its mark of 280 .
