The Varietta...

I know I've asked about this before, but that was awhile ago, and we're bigger now; maybe someone will know something that wasn't around earlier.  Or, perhaps someone who's been here since I asked last has heard some news and doesn't have my home phone number.  =)

(When) is the Varietta ever coming to America?!

As I was mulling over what to change my sig line to, this thought occured to me.  Is it ever going to show up on our shores?  Who's got Japanese Nissan friends?  I need this car.

Psst - I'd sell my del Sol.

I've got a friend that works for Nissan in Japan, but I wouldn't hold your breath on the Varietta...

never....the s15 didnt make it and the varietta is just a convertable s15....it isnt gunna make it.....maybe the s16 will come over tho <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/notify.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':notify:'>

I wouldn't count on it. It all depends on how they would sell in the states, and a convertible would probably sell pretty well.

i would say they will heavily evaluate how the 350Z does before they think about bringing another sports car over. if they can't keep the 350 on the lot, and people are buying a lot of base models, or are a lot of people that can't decide between a SER Spec-V and a 350, then there might be a market for it. but as of right now, i doubt there's any consideration on nissans side. they are finally operating in the black and there's no reason to take a risk like that.

Didn't they just stop producing s15's along with r34's?

If so, that brings the .1% chance we had of getting any form of an s15 down to 0.

or you could always get an S13 convertible and do an S15 front end... it won't be the same tho.. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'> nothing beats the varietta's hardtop.
