This subject has really gottin heated...I must put my 2 cents in.
The term ricer was used way before cheap colorful lights...it is, as someone else mention, havin a car that is "all show" and no go. It has become used more often because of the saturated fad of fuckin piece of shit Altezza lights which all started w/ Hondas (It actually started w/ the clear rear lights but Altezzas blow it out of proportion). That is why Hondas are always gonna be considered ricers no matter how small the modification is.
The reason why it became so popular is the fact that it gets attention so easily for a cheap price. Instead of buying a really expensive car that not alot of people have, you can put on Altezzas and get others to glance at your car w/out payin as much. So it serves it's purpose.
I was actually drivin today and I seen this bright as yellow Honda Prelude decked out w/ crazy Shogon kit & bright ass Altezza lights. There were like 100 cars on the road but I couldn't help but look at this yellow ass piece of shit. I was even tempted to give him a little 240sx racing action but I was strong and didn't lower myself. So...you know, you can't knock it...it serves its purpose. Well that's all I have to say...was a liitle more than 2 cents (more like a dollar...but oh well)
