for the fools that haven't found freshalloy.com yet...

stuff like that makes me not want to anything more to my car, NOT buy a camaro, but buy an lower mile S14 and do this.
Yeah, I read that a little while ago, like wow!
Not that I don't think its awsome but, I'd like to see how long it's gona last then again those guys over at unstablehybrids seem to really know their stuff.

Yeah, that's really impressive! I too wonder how long it will last though. I don't think that he's going to be running it at 15 PSI all the time, if he does, no offense to him or anything, but that's just stupid, IMO.
One thing that makes me mad is how people turn everything into a competition though. I mean, people on there were trying to egg on the SR people to produce 525 HP on stock engine. To them I would say, take off the turbo from the SR, and then we have a number to "triple" (which it didn't quite do, that would put it at about 450 crank HP).
Very impressive though, congrats to him!

well all I have to say is T.Y. has been running 14psi 318rwhp reliably for the last several months and there are couple of S13's in Miami running 375rwhp daily.
Don't doubt the awesomeness of the KA it is a killer engine .

I'm not arguing with anyone in the engine comparison post Ace, just trying to show people the plus' and minus' of two engines, three if anyone ever posts a CA.

So, IS d240t2 completely on a stock KA engine? Everyone has been talking about bottom-end, but the subject line on the first screen says "stock internals". Which is it? There's a BIG difference between stock bottom-end, and stock internals...
Either way- he's the man!

to answer your question. yep stock bottom end. now for my question.. what's the difference between stock internals and stock bottom end? when someone says stock internals, would that include the head, and cams as well? not being difficult, but i didn't know there was a difference.

Hmm, excuse me if I come off as being an ass because I'm not trying to put down that guys car.. but I do not think that's all that impressive.. The fact that he can turn up the boost for 3 runs. WHOOPTY-DOO! I guess I'm not all in to the 1/4 mile thing. Now if he was driving around with 15 psi all the time because he can, hell yeah, I'd be impressed. But the truth is, if he was driving around 15psi all around town, up and down the hills, through the mountains, back to whereever he lives, the car wouldn't last.. or even make it too far. 350hp is nice though, no doubt, good job unstable-hybrids

i believe it was PSI240sx's car that can run 20psi with no problem?? that motor is built well though. too bad he's selling it.

Of course I'm talking about headwork and all that...That's what I'm really wondering about. If you say "stock internals" that would mean everything inside the engine is how it came from the factory. If he's running cams and has had the head flowed, with adjustable gears and all that, I wouldn't really consider it to be stock internals. Especially if he has a thicker head gasket (to bring compression down)! Now, if the pistons/rings, rods, and crank are all the stock stuff, you can say a "stock bottom-end". No?

"if he was driving around 15psi all around town, up and down the hills, through the mountains, back to whereever he lives, " AND doing all day track sessions, he'd be Ty Yap who's been running 14.5 psi all year. Also, AFAIK, this car (well, the car in question and Ty's) is NOT a dyno queen.

I give this guy credit. That is a VERY decent build up he did there.. and I think there is still morepower to be squezed out of it. As long as he's done his homework, and build the engine properly, it should hold together... although I would think a bottom end rebuild/beef up will be in order soon.
Just FYI, my 86' Audi will run 17psi turbo boost ALL day long, and that is only the stock set up. I've been doing my reasearch, and the stock Audi 2.1L (yes, 5cyl 2.1... small displacement for a 3200 pound car! will hold up to WAY more. (its 'over designed'... stronger then it needs to be for normal driving)
I have found most imports, including Nissan, to be designed this way. If this guys gona run ~14psi average, he's probly at the limit...but it should hold up (with what he's done)

It was my understanding that he has a basically stock S14 engine... the only thing changed was the fuel system.

Ahem...all this speculation, why not go to the source?
I have been driving the car at ~13psi for a couple months. I turned the boost up to 14psi for the dyno runs, removing the silencer bumped it up to 15psi.
I don't feel safe running 15psi when it gets hot this summer. As long as it is still cool out, I think it could last a very very long time. It'll last forever as long as I never let it detonate. I'll probably turn it down to about 12-13psi when it gets warm out and for track events, but this is a daily driven car and I do drive it hard.
It is basically a stock S14 engine with S13 intake manifold and electronics and 2 S13 exhaust cams. Stock internals, stock bottom end, its all a matter of semantics. All I did was remove the valve cover and swap cams. The head has never come off the block.
Overall, it isn't anything crazy. It is a basic turbo kit with the right fuel system. It is pretty simple overall. I still have a manual boost controller.
Any other questions?

Any plans on selling a turbo kit? Looks like your supercharger project is on hold...

hey Dennis , did you use a S13 intake manifold with or without the secondary butterfly?
thanks , Dave
