Has anyone come up with a slick way to make temporary toe changes for auto-x? I know about plates and I think I understand how you use them but it seems like you could get out of whack relative to center over time. Am I making it out to be more complicated than it is?

with adjustable toe arms...just go to your alignment shop and get your zero toe set, then see if they will let you play with them for a second...or just do some math to see how much of a change in toe each half-turn would do to your settings...

then write them down and record your settings at the beginning of the day, then return them to stock when your done dodging cones.

and if you do the same adjustment to both sides (instead of changing tow on just one side...much easier btw) then you will not have a steering wheel centering issue

you can use a grease pen, or something to mark the subframe as well... thats what im gonna do.

i heard you can check toe with a tape measure. How is this done?

toe is measured by the difference in track width of the front (or rear) of a car by comparing the difference in width from the front of the tire to the rear...

you dont even need a tape measure...a piece of string will work too just need something to give you a reference point...since if you doing it with this method your only worried about how severe your toe condition is...
