Aight, i have Interent Explorer 5, running on Win 98 Plus OS.
Now, i need to set up an FTP so i can load graffix onto my Calgary Planet page...as they need to be from internet, not harddrive. Stuff like Flash, logo's, Graffix and pics, music, everything.
Now, here's where the problem is.
my bag of shit gay ass crappy internet has this content advisor thing on it right?
This is what happens when i try to visit anything, MSN, Yahoo, hell, even my ISP's site (shaw.ca). the damn content advisor gives me this error.

Sorry! Content advisor will not let you see this page.

Then it asks for a password to allow to see the site.
I have no idea wtf this is, and without getting access to either Yahoo, MSN, or my ISP...im screwed.

Go to "Tools" then forgot to say go to "Internet Options" and then click on the "Content" tab, and then you will see a content advisor. Click disable. If it prompts you for a password, see your parents, or a roomate or someone to get the password.

Yeah, that's the only way you can get rid of it, unless you go about it in mischievous ways!

if you know the address of the server you are going to ftp your stuff up to, just use cuteFTP. too bad you don't have windoze 2k because then you wouldn't need cuteftp. you don't even need to use the webbrowser. or use netscape as your default browser

He would still have the problem of not being able to see the site. If I read correctly, he can't visit any web pages at all. My only question then is, how is he seeing and responding to this though?

aren't passwords stored in some .pwl file?? not too sure if the content password is stored in that file either..if he had to view the site, i would think that he can use netscape..but you're right..how is he able to see this site if other sites are blocked??? Or he can go and reformat his hard drive and reinstall the operating system

Like I said, I gave him the way to do it without (emphasis on without) being mischeivious.

I hope you're not some little kid trying to get around your parents' settings

Here is a workaround. (http://www.computing.net/faq/content9x/content.html)

Uh oh, he just gave him one of the bad ways of doing it. Haha. Seriously though, if you can get the password, just get that because if you don't know what you're doing, and you fiddle with your Registry, mayhem can break loose.

I thought about it for a second, but that information can be found on Google in half a second, so I figured I would just make it easy on him. If he's being a bad boy, he'll just have to live with that But you're right, it's always a good idea to be careful with your registry (make a backup first).
