Okay I picked my 240 up today, and the left turn signal is blinking like those riced out civics... only the left. How can I fix this and make it blink at the same rate as the right side? (that is, the normal blinking speed)

Any help is appreciated!

probably corroded bulb, bulb socket and/or bad ground in the wiring.

Yeah, probably a bad connection somewhere or it could be the blinker relay tweeking, it usually starts to blink fast when it's about to die, might want to change it and see what happens.

Loose ground or socket. The rear taillights are notorious for having corroded sockets and ground wires - FYI>

You need new blinker fluid...

Actually, its more then likely a dead bulb.

LOL!!
Some kid in my class was complaining cuz his exhaust was too loud.
I charged him parts and $50 to replace his "muffler bearings."
And actually stuck a silencer in the tailpipe.

Dude, sometimes, if it match's...Riced out blinkers look cool...
There's this Integra GS-R, Silvier, 99. (i think 99, might be 98 or 00) Big Ass Terminator 2 wing, and Blue symbols/Decals all around, Enkie rims (not sure what kind) and Smoked Tail lights, Magnaflow exhaust (i think) and clear blinkers...
The blinkers are like a strobe system...blinks real fast...looks pretty cool dude...i likes it...

But i tend to like ricey things sometimes...

your bulbs are fine, it's your relay behind the dash that's about to die. Soon both sides will blink real fast, just like mine.. the signals in your dash is also goin real fast, am I right?

dealer has the parts, i think about 15

Yeah, if it's not both of the turn signals that are blinking fast, then it's not a burned out bulb.

I disagree with those who think it is NOT a burnt out bulb. Every time I've had fast blinkers it is because I had a bulb burnt out. I replaced the bulb and all was fine again.

It's probably a bulb dieing. My friend had that problem (only on one side, but caused the inside light to blink fast as well...don't remember what the rear was doing) he changed the bulb and it went back to normal. Couple months later the opposite side did the same thing, changed the bulb...problem solved.

Well silencers run for about $30-50 so I think the price was justified...he just told him it was for something else. Or was Jeff just being a jerk?

first start weith the most obvious which was stated in the first reply

then move from there dont go changing stuff and paying for parts when you just need to clean out your terminal with baking soda and a wire brush
then go to a light bulb then move from there but i doubt it will go that far.

the most simplest things are usually the main problems.

check bulb, then relay then check wires

HotRodGuy

I agree, first check the bulbs. Most likely one of them is bad or has the corroded socket. Replace the bad bulb and/or clean the socket, if that don't work then I'd go with the flasher.

camppain

if the socket is corroded clean it out
if it keeps getting corroded either clean it better or replace the socket

dont mess with the relay till you do the simple things first!

nuff said! your makin a mountain outta a mole

Excellento. I will try all the suggestions tomorrow...
could it be more likely one problem than another if it's not just one bulb, but both front and rear flashers, as well as the winker display on the dash?

adey
03-23-2002, 01:18 AM
Just to let you all know, I took out the front winker and cleaned the contacts and plug (basically just brushed off dust) and the fast winking's gone... what a simple fix; let's just hope it doesn't come back!

Thanks for all the input guys!

slather on some die-electric grease or Vasoline.....stops the corrosion.

No. I was bieng a jerk.
And when I charged him $50, it was a $50 for labor. He paid for the parts.
And no. Its not f'ed up.
This kid was an idiot and nobody liked him.
I have fixed many other peoples cars, installed peoples systems, and charged nothing. I tore a Ford Ranger to the crankshaft, and rebuilt it for a friend.
