If you take the white 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick plastic ring spacer off the OEM front speakers, then you can reuse the plastic ring spacer to screw the 6 3/4 round speakers to it, then bolt the speakers with the rings to the door. The speakers should clear the window as you lower the windows. That's what I have in my car now & that's what I did to mount them.
If you don't have those ring spacers but you need them to mount aftermarket speakers, let me know...I've got one or two sets lying around
Anyhow, hope that helps.

you can mount 5.25s in an s13 by making an adapter baffle.... Stock is 4x6 in front and 4x6 in rear (fastback, 6.5 rear coupe). Most people would probably opt for 6.5s up front and/or components not 2ways. They will fit with some custom work.

Looks like idlafie answered your s14 question

The front speakers in an s14 are 6.5's. Thats what i have any way and i told the speaker people that i wanted stock sized ones.

S14 OEM size is 6 3/4". A 5 1/4" will work if you make an adapter plate.
