New Eclipse

Has any one heard of the new GTS? I just saw one on TV so im not crazy, its here. I just cant seem to find any info on it.... Not even on Mitsubishi's web page... I dunno.

"2003 Eclipse UNVIELED!
We finally get a glance of what the 2003 Eclipse looks like. As we already knew, the 2003 model receives a new front fascia, while the original tail lights are swapped for the clear "Euro-sport" inspired look with different color lights inside the composite housing. As we knew, a new GTS model is replacing the Premium Package GT but now also receives a brand new 210hp MVIC V6 engine. The 03 Spyder GT is also equipped with the same engine and more aggressive final drive ratio of the GTS (4.01:1 for A/T, 4.11:1 for M/T). The Eclipse GT and GTS both get new 17-inch wheels, while the GS also receives new 5-spoke 16-inch wheels. "

eh.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':eh:'> &nbsp;nothing special just new bumpers and new rear tail lights now theyre red white and yellow if im not mistaken and are in a gray &nbsp;housing. &nbsp;i dont think there are any engine improvements.... probably just a small hp gain and new rims thats it im pretty sure.

new variable intake system and higher compression for the engine, +10hp to 210, thats bout it performance wise.

i wouldn't even buy a lancer. if you want a car like that buy the WRX. yeah, the galant VR4 was pretty sweet back in the day. but from my experience mitsu salesmen and service are terrible to deal with.

I had a 2000 Eclipse GT (fed spec). Loved the car (other than the FWD). IMO the 2003 GTS suck......the front end looks like a fish and the tail lights are ghey. I like the guages in the new version but the two tone interior doesn't do much for me. Check out neweclipse.org (http://www.neweclipse.org) for info, I was a frequent there (I wish this board had a search feature that worked and 3k+ members, but.....). IMO I would try to find a 2000 (fed spec, without the emission restricted exhaust) and go that route, they have 210 horses also but have the old intake manifold.

Yeah, I know what you mean about problems with Mitsubishi dealers and salesmen...they suck here in NC too...and doesn't the DSM community have an official "black list" of all the sucky dealerships? Man that's bad when you've got a list of all the dealerships that have screwed you over across the USA...And trust me, when you take your car to the dealership and they keep it for 2 days and can't find anthing wrong with it and you find out the water pump is bad and you end up with a cracked head 3 days later...you know something's wrong with the company (happened to a friend of mine last summer). &nbsp;My g/f's got one of the 2000 V6 Eclipses and they're pretty cool, but not half as fun as hopping into one of the old Eclipses with the AWD Turbo I-4.

I got a few specs today on them and from what Car and Driver says..... 0-60 should be 6.8 but ya never know. Im going to have to agree the old GS-X was great. Not into the new age GT V6 they got going or now GT-S <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':zzz:'>

can't say i'd own one. but some look nice. everyone has them though, in the silver color. too bad they aren't RWD with an option for a turbo.
