View Full Version : Got my car back with new N1 Dual

Just got my car back from Midas after they installed the N1. When I bought the car i thought it was pretty fast, even with the "speed holes" in the exhaust. Then the stock muffler fell off a week ago and I noticed some power lose (I always thought no muffler was better) but now that I have the N1 on, not only does it look cool but it pulls harder than it ever has and revs alot faster than it ever has.
Just wanted to give my positive review.

how much for the install? I am getting some money back form school so I might get myself an N1 as well.

http://www.enjukuracing.com/ --- Go here. He has some good prices for the N1.
If you get the catback exhaust you should be able to do it on your own. That is if you can get them damn bolts off that connect to the cat. My idea there is go to a local exhaust shop and ask if you can have a couple that way you can just break yours. Also I would get a cat replacement.... like maybe test pipe instead!!! I really have to ask, how much of the additional power is due to the louder exhaust? I also read that some engines require SOME backpressure to perform right. Like it they were designed that way by the factory.

don't buy into that whole backpressure garbage. it's an old racers myth. (according to SCC) even if there is some truth to it, we got low end to spare.
just know this......
backpressure=bad
high velocity gas flow=good
3'' pipe on NA car=bad
2.25-2.5'' pipe on NA car=good
crush bends=bad
mandrel bends=good
louvered mufflers=bad
straight through mufflers=good
hollowing out cat=bad
high flow cat=good
welded on stainless steel bolts=bad
cutting torch=good
yeah i'll stop now

Yeah, N1's are gettin' a little big for NA engines. You shouldn't have any reliability issues or anything though, just that it won't perform as ones w/ smaller piping.
An exhaust is something that you really should be able to do. It's just nuts and bolts, nothing complicated, no welding required.

Well since I couldn't get the damn bolts off, even using an impact wrench I had Midas do it. They were gonna charge me $110 to put it on but the guy said he would do it for $60 under the table. It took an hour and looks good.
As far as the N1 being too big for the NA or too loud...
It is quieter than my stock exhaust was (probably because it had holes in it) and I have a very noticable gain in power. And it isn't the Psychological power gain, it is definetly real. Anyways, I'm all for doing work yourself but sometimes it's just too much of a PITA.

So there was no sound coming from your exhaust now.I thought that the n1 duel would have some sound.I am looking to have some sound from my exhaust cus imo if there is no sound why spend 500.00 for an exhaust that wont sound like a sporty exhaust. In no way do i want to sound like those d*&* hondas cus honda+exhaust=fart can imo.

Well, I definately got a nicer sound out of my exhaust when I had the N1 Dual put on a week or so ago. Also, the dual is good for both N/A and Turbo applications because it's two smaller pipes, not one big pipe.

Take a pill man, settle down. Of course there's sound coming from his exhaust. He said it's a little quieter than his old exhaust because he had holes in it. If you have heard anything about the N1, dual or not, it's that it's a LLOOOOUUUUD mofo.

Of course it has a sporty sound. IMO it sounds killer and nothing like a honda. My stock exhaust sounded closer to a honda than the N1

If you're NA, I think that the GT Spec would be too big anyways, so you'd be better off going with the N1 Dual.
