Well I think the word of the day was 'understeer'. After shredding my all of my used tires earlier in the day, I had to put my falkens on the rear, and my stock KA just does not have the power to spin them, even boning out at the top of 3rd gear. Speaking of which, that course killed my SOHC.. right at the turn in point, I was at about 5XXX rpms, so every time I clutch kicked I would ping off the rev limiter, meaning I had to start my drifts with just inertia, and this is not fun when you have more grip in the back than in the front. So many people were plowing, though, that i'm suprised they managed to pick a top 25.. Anyways, if any one has any thoughts, comments, or pics, post them! BTW does anyone have pics of a white stock-body 240 coupe, with ghetto, huge neg. offset wheels sticking out past the fender? #32? Prefferably earlier in the day, when i still had shitty rear tires and wasnt understeering?

Which falkens on the rear? Azenis Sport? 15"?

lots of people plowed, but it was a challenging course. usually one out of two or three runs for the guys who stood apart fromt he others was an excellent run.
bouncing off the rev limiter? talk to the turbo Ae86 coupe from san diego! that guy is awesome!

Just random wheels. 15X8.5, -20 offset all around. The tyres were 15" Falken ZE512's. SOHC just didnt want to spin them, pretty pathetic..
And yes, the guys who 'stood apart' didnt have much trouble, including the 16V red 86 coupe that was tearing it up the entire day, and the red s13 w/RB. But what i was getting at was the fact that a lot of people advanced that shouldnt have. I.E., people who spun or hit cones. On every run. They should have just said, 'fuck it we're taking it down to top 10 from the get go'. And I doubt that turbo 86 had a 6000 rpm redline, plus he was a lot better than me (red one, right?).

Are you trying to say she cannot drift? Or did not deserve 30 points?
So what's your point? I placed lower than Nadine and I deserved it b/c I drove incredibly bad.
Do remember that it is the BEST OF 3 RUNS. Not average of 3 runs.
And the judges were looking for line and clipping point above all else. If you feel that the judging was in error, talk to the judges. The score sheets were available for you to look at afterwards, all you had to do was ask.
The one thing people NEVER do is to ask the judges at events about the criteria and things they look for in competition runs. If someone had bothered to ask, they would know that no one in round 1 came remotely close to getting the clipping points, and anyone that did (or made an effort to run a line that did) got better scoring than those that went wide.
But hey, if you think Nadine sucks and did not deserve to get 30 points, then I did not even deserve to make it past round 1 since all 3 of my runs had understeer mid-corner.

The only thing that upset me was the fact that "this one person" spun out in every single run she made and still qualified into the round of 24. Moto said that the last cone would have less impact on the score but he didn't say it had 0 impact on the score. In my opinion, she scored a 0 on all 4 runs and did not deserve to move on. I think she did great out there compared to what she normally does but 4 spinouts and making top 24 is ridiculous. Granted before the spinouts she managed to drift better than she has ever done before and she transitioned pretty nicely through the first apexes but a spinout is a spinout in my opinion.

I am jealous. She had 10 times the car that I have. And frustrated, because I was driving so shitty. Plus, Nadine's really nice in person. I feel bad now. Ah well, I have no room to bitch. All I can do is drive better next time. Thanks for humbling me.

i drove my friends SOHC and its fine
i used to drive the fuck out of DOHC an dplaced very well in competitons, final rounds in some comps, others definately to 2nd and 3rd round. other events cut first, depends on me and the day. beat a many SR drivers in comps, sometimes got hammered by them. its how comps are
complaining about it online i hate. its stupid, somedays are better then others.
s13 is kinda like corolla but easier to drive, just drive the hell out of it
SOHC isnt as bad as people sayd ive drifted it many times and no problem, fun motor once you know what it can do, you adapt.
practice makes perfect
i was on KA for over 2 years drifting. once you learn the tricks of KA its a fun motor to drive.

I LOVE my SOHC KA. :rawk:
I find it helps me to learn to drive better without having all that power behind it. I'll concentrate more on lines, weight transfer, etc.

Gadammit dont tell me how to drive my car I know what I am doing. Lets not turn this into another KA vs SR thread. We all love learning on low power cars, but mine failed me in this circumstance. Bite my weiner. Arguing on the internet is fucking stupid and i am not going to participate. That is all. Now back on topic.
