Aftermarket pedals.

I was thinking of getting some new pedals. I could use a set that allows for heel-toe so I can brake and gas with one foot.
I could use better grip as well. Sparco looks nice, but costs too much for pedals.
Anyone know of any that look nice (bonus points for different colors <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'> ) and work well?

You should be braking and accelerating with the same foot anyways! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> &nbsp;I got a pair, but have not put them on yet. &nbsp;I don't think I will either, I'll probably end up getting different ones, we'll see. &nbsp;Either way, they are getting soldered and bolted on, instead of strapped like regular ones.

I think aftermarket pedals are overrated. &nbsp;I've never had problems heel and toeing in any car I've driven.....or maybe its just that my hoof's larger than most people. &nbsp;I do have some monkey claws down there going to work when I drive.... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

I'm with Junia on this... the first time I took my GTi out I thought the pedals were too far apart to H&T, but after a while, you realize that you really don't need them as close together as aftermarket ones would put them.
I'd go either Momo or Sparco... &nbsp;stay away from Razo and Lonza (and "Type R" needless to say!<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> unless you drive a rice rocket. =p

You can find polished silver Sparco's for pretty cheap...they bolt on too instead of strap on (which means you have to have tools to drill through your existing pedals). &nbsp;If you have small feet like me, they'll be a big help in H&T/sidestepping...just be careful not to mount them too close to each other; you don't want to snag the gas when you go to slam on the brakes. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':cry:'>

Heh, I could picture myself doing that too.

I dunno about drilling the pedal. I was hoping to find some slip of covers that would work. Guess I will have to go with Sparcos then.

when I first got the 240 in a stick I kept snaggin the brake when I hit the clutch. &nbsp;that SUCKS. &nbsp;Cause you don't take it easy on the clutch. &nbsp;can you say BAM<. &nbsp;opps;... &nbsp;

anyway, I got used to it. &nbsp;I still think those two pedals feel close together. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

lol... i put cheap aftermarket pedals in my car and when someone else drives it they almost always accidentally bump the brake when hitting the gas or bump the gas when hitting the brake....

i have sparco pedals, got them for 25 bucks i think

i still can't h&t, in part because i didn't place the pedals properly, also partly because i'm 6'3'' and i can't get my leg at a proper angle to do it without my knees hitting the wheel, so you know what that means........300mm momo champion wheel, too bad they cost like 300 bucks........i'd rather have swaybars

when at the track, i have to make sure to downshift quickly so i'm not gaining more than 5-700 rpm's. it would really unsettle the car otherwise. my rear tires breifly lock when i do it, gotta be really careful to shift when traveling in a perfectly straight line.

I got the Sparco pedals and they are hard to line up when bolting them on. &nbsp;I like them but &nbsp;I have to be carefull when working the pedals.

Very true. &nbsp;I misaligned the clutch pedal slightly and had to take a grinder to the support beam thing to make room for the bolts. &nbsp;BTW, the clutch is the hardest to line up b/c the beam runs at a diagnal, whereas the brake and gas have a vertical beam that can pretty easily be avoided.

I messed up my brake pedal. I meant to put it that high up but didn't mean to put it angled like that. They are just a tiny bit too close together so when I wear pumas or running shoes they are great but when I'm wearing nice shoes for work heal-toe is kindof akward and sometimes I hit the gas when I want to just brake. I got them at Autosupermart (http://autosupermart.com/) for 30 something. They do bolt on and are SCAA approved (of course it's sparco) unlike the clip/strap on pedals.

Those are exactly what I got.
My only erk with them is that the little rubber studs tend to pull out during fancy footwork...I guess it's the way the tread on my shoes grabs them...but it's no biggie.

Yeah, the little black rubber grip things wear down and sometimes pop out. &nbsp;And they were so hard to get pushed into the pedals.
