Hey everyone, I recently purchased a set of R33 GTR wheels for my S14. I just have some questions about how to get the best look and fitment.
1) What size of tires should I run on them?
2) What size of spacer should I run to make them as flush as possible? Also, should I run a different size on the front than on the back?
3) Once I order SPL's coilovers will I be able to go quite low without having to pull or roll the fenders and what kind of camber will I have to run?
Thanks in advance.

1. 215/40/17 and 225/45/17
2. 25mm of spacers in front and 30mm of spacers in the rear
3. no. you need to roll and MAYBE pull a little bit. fronts should run -3 degree and rear should be -3 as well.
my settings will PROBABLY work. try it and find out.

yup thats just about what i run.
215/45 and 25mm spacers all around and about - 3 degrees of camber give or take all aroud as well. i only rolled my fenders too, no pulling.

215's on a 9 inch rim? That's a little small don't you think. I know for "uber cool drifters" they like strechting tires, but what if he doesn't drift.

Ya I wouldn't consider myself a drifter by any means. I just want my car to have a nice low stance with wheels that fit the car well and are flush for now. Also revat619 could you post up some pictures of your ride. It sounds really nice.
I'm just a pretend drifter so I run 5mm front spacer and 245/40s. Its not at all flush with these specs, I would need a larger spacer, but there are a ton of combinations, just depends on what youll be doing with the car.

I run BNR33s with 20mm spacers front and rear on S13, pulled and rolled fenders, 215/45 up front, 235/40 rear. Camber is like -2.5 and -2.

16 x 6.5 i think, offset i'm not sure...probably in the 30s, don't think you'd want em...
if you search hard enough, many on the board have/had s13's with R33 wheels (hint: PG folk)

r33 gtr wheels are 17x9 +30 offset

they will be FLUSH in the rear thats for sure. Ive got 8.5 rears with a 37mm offset and they're flush. My fronts are 7.5 with a 22mm offset and are flush as well. I wouldnt run any spacer. And for tires on a 9inch rim, do you autoX or road race on these? If so, you obviously want a good amount of rubber, id go 245s all around. It'll handle like a beast. If you'd just rather it look cool for the street, run a 225 up front, and a 245 out back. NO spacers will be needed.

then you can run 235/40 or 245/40.
revat619's car isnt uber cool, its uber GANGSTER... j/k he daily drives his car, not real issues, tires wear rather evenly, just fast.
based on what the poster is doing, it seems like he is going for the common style, but i could be wrong.

No I don't auto-x or roadrace, but wouldn't mind trying it out eventually. For now the car is just purely a street car. I think my best bet would just be to get the rims mounted with coilovers on either 235/40 or 245/40 tires and then decide after if I wanna get spacers to push them out a little bit more. What do you guys think?

DO NOT take wheel tire advice from just anybody on here. eveyrone has their own version of "cool". some people think that the smallest tire possible on a 9 inc h rimis awesome. i, however, think that a 215 on a 9 inch rim is queer.
here's what i'd do:
mount the rims to see where you sit as far as offfset and clearance. look around to see how much space you have for tire.
then get as much tire as possible :)
235s at LEAST for an S14. we S13 fellas are stuck at a measely 225.

A 215 is queer but a 225 is ok???

225 is max for stock S13 fronts unless ya wanna rub. unless i've been ill-informed. 225 on 8's is okay for the front but there's no way i'd stick a 9 up there if i could avoid it.

that car looks so hot. I think eventually I will end up getting spacers. I read somewhere that a 5mm spacer will be needed anywayz to clear coilovers in the front. Is this true for KTS coilovers on an S14? Anywayz I thought I would post a pic of the wheels that are on their way from Japan and my car.

itll look sweet as hell, and yes, just put em on (id run 235s up front, and 245 out back, and then itll look good, and still lay down decent rubber) and then if you'd like, add spacers, just watch wheel stud length. And yes, 225 is about as wide as you can go on an s13, unless you have insanely low offset wheels. Ive got 16x7.5 up front with a 225/45 yokohama and it rubs a LITTLE bit, but not enough to affect anything.

i'd run 225/45 (or 40)R17 up front and see if your coilover clears if not start adding spacers, out back run 225-255 width tires, its up to you if u want to stagger the set up.

What kind of differences will a staggered set-up make/ what will it affect?

I know one or two people running 245 up front on an S13 and not rubbing. Thats with stock fenders.

could mean the night/day difference between oversteer and understeer. All depends on air pressure and the actual tire itself too (series, compound etc)

i ran 225 up front and 235 in the back with no rubbing issues on my s13 with a 17x9 +18 all around. front fenders were rolled, but didnt need to be. I also depends on how much camber you run and how low you want the car to be.

well with my setup (225up front and 245 rear) i ran my first autoX yesterday and took first in my class. I ran about 2.5 degrees of camber up front, and about 1.5 in the rear. There was minor understeer (nothing like my 205s all around though!) however i corrected most of it with a little more camber and a drop in tire pressure. Ran VERY well.

the r33 wheels also came in +40 (unless i misinterpreted the translation in the dt mag) but otherwise, just do what brian or doriftoslut says.

I never knew they came in +40, can anyone confirm this and are you able to tell from the picture of mine if they are +30 or +40?

The wheels you got only came in a 30mm offset. Using a 25mm spacer on a 9 inch, 30mm offset wheel is rediculous. Go with 10mm spacers all around and call it a day. Plenty flush and if you don't slam it you wont have to roll fenders or run unfavorable camber settings.
Staggering tire sizes with the same size wheel all around is retarded. Go with 235's all around and you'll be able to rotate any combination you want.

thats what it looks like in my mag, the translation says taipu (type) hoiru (?) i know there are alot of replicas, so im not sure if the ones with the +40 offset were the replicas.

Haha, but i plan on slamming the car so we will just have to see through trial and error. By the way Jim i checked out your car and I love it. Nice wheels with a nice ride height and it looks very clean.
