I have a auto tranny in my garage and it needs to be gone in 3 weeks. where should I drop it off to maybe get some cash? I live in the Bay Area. someone please let me know what to do I don't want this thing sitting in my garage for any longer!

you know that super market down the road? what day is trash day
yeah you drop it off in that big dumpster the night before trash day.

Apartment complexes also have good size dumpsters. So do malls.
If you're really bold, leave it in a deserted parking lot and see how long it sits there. If it sits for more than a week you get a prize.
A recycling yard would love to take the aluminum case, but the added steel inside makes it worth about $5.

Me and a buddy dropped off this CA block out the back of my car in the middle of some random alley...It sat there for weeks. it was too awesome ever time we drove by and saw it.

take it to a boatyard and sell it as an anchor....

you have to think maybe some non car enthuisist will need an auto tranny
