Hey guys, this has been posted elsewhere, with little feedback. So I needed to make another thread.

Anyone just share their settings and psi with other people, I know there are some people out there than can use it.

I'm using the GReddy profec b spec II, I need some settings for 10 psi and 15 psi. (For Hi/Lo)

I am using some submitted settings right now of set: 45% gain: 15% set gain: .56kPa. It's supposed to get me 10 psi but I have to really let off the pedal, it spikes very easily up to ~18+ psi... Also submit your limit settings + lower% settings.

Please get some feedback here, I'm running on a redtop sr20det in a s13.

Peace :ughug:

I made the other thread. I'm finally starting to get to know this boost controller pretty well. First of all, settings depend on weather conditions, so while that may make 10 psi in some conditions, it won't on others. I would lower the start boost to something like .40 and lower the set a tad too, maybe down to like 40%. You just gotta play around to get the setting you want.

Thing is, it's very wierd... I've never driven a boost controlled car and I just got this... I'm boosting like crazy...
I played around with it today (again) and in the manual it says that if you put the top boost near the start boost (shows up as set gain) then it will spool up faster. So I put my settings as:
set: 40% gain: 20% set gain: .40 limit: 1.1 lower: 33%...

That was one of many settings... I really went dramatic on every other item to see what could help (like in that one I set my limit very high) but nothing ever seems to work...

I have to push the throttle in half way or less so that my boost doesn't spike on every setting... I boosting Fking 22 psi the other day and i was flipping out i thought the shit read it wrong...

What are your settings? Someone help out here..
Thanks :duh:

dude, none of that will help you from leaning out when you boost too high, not to mention it's WAY past the turbo's effciency. Do you even have an upgraded fuel pump? I've seen first hand what happens when a stock SR boosts too high.. *POP*! Time to rebuild the engine.

Be careful, you should at least have an upgraded fuel pump, FPR and some sort of A/F management before you even think about boosting so far past stock.

shiiit... lol I think it's being misread.
I didn't mean to boost 22 and theres no way in hell I'm trying to boost 22... thats crazy as shit.
I was on an open road i just made a turn and i downshifted i wasnt even going fast and I definitely didnt redline it (i was watching and it was only 2nd gear) and then I look at my controller and it says 1.5something kPa... = ~22 psi..

I need some good settings so that I don't boost so high, but I guess no one that reads these forums has a profec b spec II?

right now I have it basically maxing around 1.2 kPa but thats still way too high, I'm trying to have about ~.8

Thanks for the replies though...
I bought the car and I'm getting a list of everythgin the previous owner had done to it because there was a lot of performance mods so I'll let you know exactly what it's got.

OIC, whew!
thought u were setting your boost at 15+ for regular use! That's just not smart on the stock setup (stock fuel and stock turbo).

I just saw a few other threads involving the Profec B, I'd search to see who has one and send out a few PMs, someone should be able to help you out with a decent setup.

If you haven't bought anything you don't have an intake, you have a HKS Metal Flow Filter.

Look for the boost controller selinoid in the engine bay on the exhaust side of the car. Check to make sure the vacum lines are indeed securely fastened. Otherwise I wish you would of left the boost settings where I origanally set them too before you bought the car.

Here is an idea though. Put all the settings on 0 and see if your spiking then. If you are then its a leak somewhere, if not then you need to put the settings back the way I originally had them, I forget where they were.

I think it could be your gain, I have blitz sbc id. I believe the manual said to set the gain to around 10% for stock/near stock setup otherwise it will cause spikes

Also you need to set the warning/boost limit as well.
