View Full Version : trouble shifting into 1st and 2nd
Hey, i have a problem of getting into 1st and 2nd gear. the gears are there and all it drives fine but the matter of physically getting in is a bitch. i have a b&m short shifter. could it be a bushing or something? has anyone else had this problem? thanks in advance.

Upon start-up(when its cold) I have to force my B&M into second, but pretty sure its just the gear oil. Works fine after a few minz...
Does it happen constantly?

I have the same problem you have with my short shifter, i was thinking that maybe a change in the gear oil would do something? i know after a few minutes it's fine...

I used Royal Purple 75w90 when the SS was installed, which is the viscosity chilton's manual recommends.
Didn't see it in the FSM...

Try double clutching your gear shifts.

yea it's either that or maybe adjust your clutch by the clutch pedal
this is the first time it has ever happened. and its not even that cold out. its been out in colder temps and its been fine. i mean even not trying to put it in gear, just the movement of the shifter to the left in neutral requires a lot of force.
