the body is straight, it has some dents ( small ) in the rear quarters, the paint is ok, it was a 5 lug, now a 4, and the passanger mirror is a little messed up. the interior is ok, there is no muffler on it. I think 500 is fair too.

Tell him 450 and then use 500 as your max dollar amount if he has problems with 450. It will give him the impression that you are somewhat flexible.

yea and you never know if you just call 400-450 he just might say "ok." dont offer your max offer first.

yea...just shoot low first, thats my best advice...i'd say a $500 limit is good. good luck!
why WAS it 5 lug and now 4?

why WAS it 5 lug and now 4?
Probaly sold them or used them, you think?
I sold a non-rolling, completely stripped chassis with nothing but glass for $400, so anything close to that is more than reasonable.

he HAD an SR20DET, sold the motor out of it, had 5 lug, sold them, converted back to 4.

Tell him 500 if he pays for the shipping or 400 if you take care of it.

It depends alot on who your are dealing with, and the area you live. There are very few 240s in my area, and the only shell i could find for my motor was $1500. It had everything though, but the motor was blown, and it was an auto. I got a bad deal, but supply and emand I guess.

well there is no short supply of them in florida. I got mine in great condition, running, clean, for 1500. I figure no motor/trans, im doing someone a favor for giving them 500 bucks.
If anyone else has some coupe shells laying around near florida, or willing to ship cheap, let me know. My project has taken a twist....
