but The B&M ROCKS socks and anyone that says it doesn't is full of it. this sucker is everything a shifter should aspire to be.

I found this to be odd... I drove an integra with a short shifter for 3 years. Drag racing it and shit. Then, when I switched to the 240 with it's longer throws, I would scratch gears all the time because of my hand/foot timing was off. I thought it was my imagination. Jumped into my friend's short shifter equipped 240, BAM! fast shifts, no scratching. Weird.

yeh it does happen. i drive my 240s stock shifter and when i drove my freinds rsx type s, its short as hell and i kept thinking i ddnt put it in gear all the way, so i was scared to let go of the clutch untill i made sure it was all the way in.

me personally i like the short thro of the b&m shifter along with the well made knockoffs. however me wanting to road race, i was thinking of having the shifter in a position more to the height of the steering wheel. rather then reaching down to shift. just moving to the right and grabbing gears. kinda like the new civic Si "rally style" shifting. http://www.fastlineperformance.com/shifter.htm . if something were developed for rear drive cars mainly 240s i'd be sold.

That's why when you're unfamiliar with a car.. make sure to go through all the gears, find the clutch engagement point and you're set.

OH MY, a funny thing I caught this, a friend of a friend just purchased one (two by accident) and I was considering the 2nd, I may need to take this into serious consideration for purchase. . . And to all who hate on clutches and MT's of nissans, go flap a wing, and learn to shift properly, do not try to take on yah homies LS as soon as you get a new product.

it basically makes it to where you have to do the smallest amount of work possible when shifting gears. timing should never play a roll in shifting anyhow. you should be constantly aware of clutch/gas/RPM/speed and adjust accordingly.

i can shift just as quickly with a stock shifter. the B&M just makes shifting fast easy while giving you more feedback as well.

p.s. the next one of you newbs that asks where i got my carpet from without searching for the FUGGIN threads i've already made imma kick you in the nuts. enough of the pm's idiots.

^ hahaha makato's bitch #1032109201412

The B&M is well worth it, in fact it feels so direct and short that I don't want to drive another 240 without one. Those who are skeptical go out and find a 240 with one and drive it, its like night and day

If someone else had started this thread, makoto would be tearing into them right now for bringing up a topic that has been discussed 138735434 times before. BTW, where did you get your carpet? :keke:

Yeah the B&M shifters do rule. I've had mine for over a year, it was like the first thing I got for my car. I think if I drove a ferrari, I'd expect the shifter to feel like a B&M.
